G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 First-place Mets behind first-place Matz.Max Fried for the 0-1 visitors.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 The good thing about the new set-up for this year is that if the Mets win this game I believe they clinch a playoff spot.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 I was thinking about this... All you really need to do is win about half your games. The team that goes 40-20 (.667) only has a slight advantage in the playoffs than the team that goes 30-30 (.500). This business about each game being worth 2.7 games would have been true if the playoff field hadn't been expanded, but now for the most part you just have to avoid sucking to have a shot at the World Series.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Today is Biff Pocoroba's birthday. I hope they don't use that as an emotional springboard.Later

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 We need the Bear to come through today. 🐻
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 This is a new feeling again, having something to look forward to happening on a day.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 I was exercising yesterday and I felt something I hadn't remembered feeling in a long time. And I thought, "Good God ... is this an ... adrenaline rush?"

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 I'm not practised in whining about DH lineups ,but Nimmo is a better hitter than most of those, feel like he's not the guy you want ninth.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Got to hand it to Matz. He may not have climbed up to #2 starter, but he got there by outlasting Harvey, Syndergaard, Wheeler, and Stroman.Bartolo, too!
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 I'm wondering if not complaining constantly about how irritating Matz and his wife are might be helpful this year.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Let's go Rosie. Big spot
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 The Wild Boar is still in the corral.Hitless through four.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 One or two of those 'hit' things would be nice.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Mets chasing a lot of shit out of the strike zone. And this was true yesterday and during the exhibitions too.But HEY! Dubble by Conforto!
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 1st double and 1st triple in quick succession and we're all tied up
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 I think I have Rosie in the 'firsts' contest with a triple!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 That was a legit HbP, but Brandon has to at least pretend to be trying to dodge the ball.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Lefties getting it done against the lefty.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 I would prefer Nimmo bailing a little more, especially not getting plunked on thehand. Break 5-6 bones and your hand may never be the same.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Hey, Matzie!https://sayingimages.com/wp-content/uploads/rambo-thumbs-up-meme.jpg>
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Y'know, if we send Alonso down now (he's clearly not ready) and keep him there for a few weeks we can delay his FA status by a year.Just sayin'Just kiddin'
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Fammy, let's see if you put last year behind you......
