Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 Major League Baseball has sent out a fan survey, asking fifteen questions. Let's make each of these a poll, so they can be voted on and discussed individually. In order to reduce wear and tear on players during a condensed schedule, each extra inning will begin with a runner on base in order to improve the chance of a quick finish

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2020 Posted April 25, 2020 I actually don't hate this IF it's after "a few" (2, 3?) normal extra innings and only in a shortened season where the pitchers don't have enough time to get ready. I prefer it to ties and having position players pitch.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2020 Author Posted April 25, 2020 I much prefer ties. Let the game end in a tie after ten innings.

Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Where can I find the actual fan survey? Or was it just sent out to a random selection of fans?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2020 Author Posted April 26, 2020 I received it as an email invitation.Try going to fansatbat.mlb.com.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 I never get the "wear-and-tear on pitchers" argument. If they are worn down, but still throwing goose eggs, what gives? In fact, isn't seeing what gives the point? If the rosters are going to be expanded, more pitchers will be available to pitch more deeply, if necessary.
