Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 I'm jealous of Carl's full thick head of hair.

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2019 Author Posted September 19, 2019 I'm jealous that he could throw a lollipop strike at 80. After reaching down to pick the ball off the rubber.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 I didn't realize that Yaz's son (and Mike's father) had passed away from a heart attack. Reading that story and watching this did not make me cry at all.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 But ultimately, Mike Yazstrzemski Jr. turned his father's story from a tragic one to a triumphant one. If a guy was given the choice of making it to the big leagues, or having his son make it to the big leagues, I don't know many that would pick the first. I'm sure Mike Sr. felt the same way.

seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 Until yesterday, I was 100% sure that Carl Yastrzemski had already passed away. Perhaps I just mis-remembered the passing of his son.

The Fenway Park organist, Josh Kantor, played "Only You" as the Yastremskis walked out.
