G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Marcus, don't make us regret that you're not Vargas and that I'm not Seawolf.Stroman vs. Eflin. Prime time, boys. Make ESPN less annoying by again vanquishing the Charmless Brycemen of the Delaware Valley.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Author Posted September 1, 2019 Four interminable hours from first pitch...http://www.faithandfearinflushing.com/2019/09/01/the-05-model/this should help fill the Metless gap.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Headed to see the AAA-sters here in the ROC this evening. Was kind of hoping Nimmo would get one more game here, but he's joining the big club tonight.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 As with Jason Vargas yesterday, tonight we're going to knock Zach Eflin the fuck out of the box

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Author Posted September 1, 2019 Nimmo and Haggerty your initial callups, unofficially.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Author Posted September 1, 2019 You know -- Sam Haggerty.And Brandon Nimmo.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Author Posted September 1, 2019 Zamora and Bashlor are also back.Donnie Hart, who the Mets didn't gotta have, has been DFA'd.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 THIS Sam Haggerty?https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=hagger000samhttps://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=hagger000samWhy?Later
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Author Posted September 1, 2019 Sam Haggerty, who hopes to deliver big pinch-hits as Lenny Harris once did, will wear Lenny's old No. 19.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 THIS Sam Haggerty?https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=hagger000samhttps://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=hagger000samWhy?Looks like speed, walks, and multiple defensive positions to me.23 of 27 steals this season across two levels; OBA = 106 points above his BA for his career (65-70 is about average); plays (or at least has played) SS, 3B, 2B, & OFNot a bad set of skillz to have on a bench.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Author Posted September 1, 2019 Nido also activated. Three catchers!
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Sam Haggerty was acquired with Walter Lockett for Pawlecki which means that BVW can say that he got 2 major leaguers for a backup catcher. Haggerty wore 88 in Spring Training and didn't have his name on his jersey so when he played during the last few innings of the first 2 weeks of spring games you went "who is that guy?" He's a Met now. He also played in Brooklyn, Binghamton, and Syracuse this year so he's seen it all.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Fucking Stroman. Just a lot of not that much.Plus this ESPN broadcast crew is rough on the ears.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Retiring just five of the first eleven batters faced is not a good sign moving forward.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Author Posted September 1, 2019 Ramos extends his streak to 25.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 My answer to the trivia questions: Dave F. Kingman and Darryl F. Strawberry.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Shorter ESPN-Marcus Stroman is short! How can he succeed when he is so short? So many good pitchers are tall. Tall, tall, tall!Hall of famer Jim Bibby was tall! Also Marcus Stronan is short!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Can't tell y'all how much I love it when my baseball games come with a constant graphic telling me when that all important Notre Dame/Louisville game is on.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 So Eflin's spot in the lineup comes up in a bunting situation. He also has a three-hitter going, has retired 10 straight, and is through 7 innings on just 5-1/2 innings worth of pitches. So in comes a pinch-hitter. Thank you Gabe KaplerNow if Jay Bruce hits one out here my post is going to look silly ... but, shyeet, even ARod had this figured out correctly.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 I love hearing the LGM chant on the road in Philly.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 (edited) Nimmo runs to 1st after a walk and Conforto makes the safe sign. Edited September 1, 2019 by Guest
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 It's cool to see that Nimmo guy get activated and immediately get a walk. I was hoping to see him.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Perfectly executed sacrifice there by Guillorme.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 I'm Frayed Knot and I approved of that sac bunt.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Perfectly executed wild pitch by Neris there.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 McNeil doesn't look right but I'm sure he's handling his slump well.
