Methead Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 hit on the ground, chopped high in the air, what's the difference
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Remember when, if they played Davis, Smith was available off the bench? And if they played Smith, Davis was available off the bench?Good times.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 This is quite a bench that Brodie assembled. Please call up Rivera because the other teams must be laughing every time that Nido is in the lineup.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Pulling the outside pitch and rolling it over to third is getting to be a habit.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 (edited) I can't believe we're going to lose this fucking game.Too many wasted opportunities early and absolutely shit since. Edited August 16, 2019 by Guest
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 And now we're just going to remove any doubt before even getting to the 9th.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Gil Hodges is signaling for Nolan Ryan.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 THE most predictable result of the season. We also would have accepted 'Bases-clearing double'

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Diaz knows how to empty the bases.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 When your lineup has Lagares batting 6th, even against the Royals, you're in trouble. Ramos had 4 hits last night and there's a DH tonight but Mickey rests Ramos and Nido plays which is an automatic auto. Call up Rene Rivera for Nido who wouldn't hit .250 in AA. WSH won again so those two loses last Friday and Saturday really put them away as they haven't lost since. The Mets celebrated those wins as if they won the Series, not that this group would know what that's like.
Methead Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 just call it fair and end it already
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 This is reminding me of that tremendous line FAFIF pulled out in Game seven of the 2015 World Series on this forum, when the Royals were piling it on in the last inning and it became pretty fucking clear that the Mets were gonna lose the WS: - "I think I just saw Freddie Patek score".
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Wait. I think I just saw Freddie Patek unscore.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Here's an idea for Diaz that he might want to try at some point: How 'bout retiring ONE batter. It would be a start anyway.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 The only surprise thus far in top 9 is that the game didn't end on a GiDP
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 You don't get to see four runs pulled off the board every day.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 If only Pete Alonso could get a turn at bat.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2019 Author Posted August 17, 2019 There is just too much offense on the injured list. I understand that the nest man up is expected to get it done. Think of it this way, on saturday two or our starting OF's will be Aaron Altherr & Lagares. OuchReferring to a post from a different igt, Dilson! Come on up
