I guess when he's playing third, he's Miggier than usual, but I expect him to be more Reubenesque than anything.

And the Mets take the lead either way.

(I think Davis took off as soon as the ball got loose. He was exploiting the drop, not Merrifield's inaction in pursuing it.)

Hey, Gary Apple, it was Hendrix that played the national anthem. Come on, Keith. Lay him out for that.

He sounds like someone who actually didn't know that (rather than just conflated them for some reason) but is spouting "facts" in order to make himself sound knowledgable on the subject.

But either way, keeping track of G Apple's mistakes just so far in this game will take a spreadsheet.

That's American history. How does nobody in the booth let him know?

And like clockwork, he gives a shout-out to the Mets fans who have come to Atlanta for the game.

Though, credit where due, he corrected himself.

End of 4 innings and we're just over one hour into the game.

At this point in last night's game they had barely reached the top of the 2nd.

I suspect it's because they'd rather pretend it didn't happen than bring it up and further embarrass the substitute teacher when half the students are already making fun of him.

Keeping our DP roll going -- Three DPs last night (one in the air, two on the ground) and now three more already tonight (one in the air, two on the ground) -- which, not surprisingly, results in

our large on-base advantage [5 hits + 1 BB + 1 HBP + 1 Reached on Error --vs-- 1 hit + 1 BB] translating into only a small edge on the scoreboard.

Did Nido just whiff on the catch on the play at the plate?

I thought so, I know it's hard sometimes but get a piece of mitt on it at least.

I'm pretty sure "Stolen Pillows" was the working title for Frampton's "I'm In You"
