I suspect he had already decided to pull him after the final three outs he got were all bullets right at OF'ers, but then

allowed him to hit anyway because, well why not?, he swings as well as anyone left on the bench.

Wound up out-hitting them 12-8 AND played better defense, but six of the Braves eight hits hits came not only consecutively but also with RiSP.

We, meanwhile, left 212 runners on base. OK actually only 10, but still, they left only 5 while we were 3-fer-11 w/RiSP to their 6/12

Sucky. Caught an inning or two early but wasn't getting the good hope that the bats were going to wake up. We did watch the Ruben-less AAA Mets win 5-4, though, so there's that.

Since defeating the Nationals on Saturday, WSH has won 4 in a row and picked up 3 1/2 games on the Mets who have lost 3 in a row. So much for momentum.
