G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 aXJhDltzYVQ Minneapolis has the Twins, but we're going for triplets winwise.Zack Wheeler will endeavor to keep the elevator from bringing us down. Michael Pineda will punch a higher floor where his ERA is concerned.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 In a scheduling oddity (what isn't these days?) the Mets have nearly 16% of their remaining games (11 of 69) against AL Central opponents. At first I thought it was more because I only remembered the first two games against the Twins and totally forgot about the trio they already played vs Detroit back in May. So far: 3-2So that's two remaining against the very good Twinkies; three vs the occasionally good seriously, I just used a racist word when I really meant "Guardians", and then three each vs the weak but improving ChiSox and also thevery bad RoyalsAnd speaking of bad teams, we also have seven left vs the Marlins (3 in early August then 4 in late September) with all being at CitiFieldNow if only we could be the phucking phillies!!

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2019 Author Posted July 16, 2019 All right, Matz, consider this first inning the second.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 Whoa Matz had a 1-2-3 first inning
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 Nelson Cruz is still playing?I think I got his baseball card when I was 10 years old.Later
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 Gzelly in. Needs a triple play
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 Avilan. I barely even know this guy.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 How the devil have the Mets gotten through the last two innings with only one run scored? Also, I have to say, these Twins are, like, mutant-big. Every one of them scares the shit out of me. I knew they hit a prodigious amount of homers, but it didn't occur to me that they'd all look like Pete Alonso's big brothers. They're like the Gashouse Gorillas.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 Sure bring Fammy in. What could go wrong?
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 Cano could drop the force throw, he answered
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 The Bro-pen coming through tonight
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 C'mon McNeil. Be the guy you were before you were traded to the SHaMs.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 Man, it hurts my back when I see Alonso lurch at that slider away below the knees.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 (edited) I give Cano credit. He doesn't just hit into your typical double play. He hits into ALL KINDS of double plays. Edited July 16, 2019 by Guest
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 Thanks for the four hits, Conforto, but you could have stayed in the pickle for a moment or two.
