Speechless.

The other problem, for this game anyway, is that we've taken 10 hits incl 2 HR + 2 doubles, tossed in 2 SBs, 4 walks and a Philly error ... and somehow added all that up to just 4 runs.

9 LOBs and 2 for 11 w/RiSP will do that for you.

They tattoo our bullpen. We can't get the ball out of the infield vs theirs.

Meanwhile, MFY games are almost the exact opposite of ours.

This afternoon the Blue Jays scored five times on a 3R & a 2R HR in their first turn through the lineup ... and then got out-scored 8-2 from that point on and lost 8-7 on a 9th inning walk-off single.

And this was all after the Jays managed just one run out of a bases-loaded/no-out situation in the top of the 9th

Something else about double-switching Dom out of the game--Lugo didn't stay in the game past that inning so it was FUCKING POINTLESS!

So do we assume that that's it for Diaz despite just a 12(?) pitch 1-2-3 inning?

After all, the possibility of him getting even five outs was out of the question as little as four days ago.

Now we get to see what we can do against a guy with 35 baserunners [23 Hits, 12 Walks] in 17 innings pitched this season.

So far: yet another chopper beat into the ground towards 3rd

Keith wants a high energy call from Joe West?

I think the last one of those came sometime during Clinton's first term.

Oh, and lookie here, another inning with nothing even resembling a hit off a nothing bullpen!!

I have had an irrational dislike for Vargas since the first time I saw him in Mets uniform. I had no idea why, until I saw him taking questions tonight. With his glasses and curls, he looks too much like my brother-in-law.

Apparently I also can't stand DGW's brother-in-law. Or his doppelgänger.

Gary Cohen gave Vargas as close to the Roberto Alomar treatment as I've heard him dispense since he moved to TV, gently but firmly condemning both his behavior toward Healey and his failure to own up to it the next day. Vargas made himself even less sympathetic tonight when he intimated there was far more to what happened than that which is known but chose not to elaborate.

Threatening a reporter is bad enough. But letting down Gary Cohen is inexcusable.

Sadly, there is nobody in the minors about whom I could say,"It looks like he's ready, and if they brought him up maybe he could jump-start the team".

Shouldn't the Schaefer banner from a Vargas thread feature a Vargas girl?

Actually, your model is pretty close.
