One, Two, Three Four. Can I Have a Little More?: The Winning Streak -- The IGT 5/24/19 -- DET@NYM

Tigers are in an absolute free fall, losing eight in a row. Yesterday's debacle -- against our friends the Marlins -- came within an out of a 2-0 victory But then the Marlins scored five runs, four of them courtesy a Garret Cooper grand slam.

The danger here is the Tigers are due for a win, and the Mets, having won four in a row, are due for a loss. Let's hope we can keep both streaks going.

I was playing around with the B-R Play Index free mode earlier this week, trying to figure out if the Mets do, in fact, make starting pitchers in the first few games of their career look good.

I did this search:

From 2010 to 2019, Against NYM, as Starter, In first 10 games, (requiring game_score>=70)

and got 14 games.

I was pretty sure we were the worst by a lot, but the Phillies and Royals had 14 also, and there a few teams who had 10-11.

Tigers coming in to this series in as big a freefall as the Marlins were before last week's series. Let's try and avoid repeating last weekend.

Didn't I do a similar query recently and found nothing? I was looking mostly at ERA and if we won though.

I have zero problem trading Noah when we fall out of contention

Why is Mickey still here?

Veteran pick-ups with 3R come-from-behind or tie-breaking HRs as their first NYM HR

Rajai Davis -- Check

Carlos Gomez -- Check

Hecchavarria -- Check

Altherr -- Probably before the weekend is out. Stay Tuned

Since we're playing Detroit, Syndergaard:

struck out nine tonight, nine tonight, nine tonight

He struck out nine tonight, nine tonight, nine tonight

OK, so it wasn't a three-run homer, although it was a tie-breaker so I'm claiming victory here regardless.
