Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 They get 5 innings out of Font they'll be happy. Good that Noah went 8 strong last night.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 This mlb.tv blackout is starting to get old.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 Striking out the side against the Mets in order isn't really special and new, either.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 My 1st look at Font. Big guy, cool lookto his delivery but you can't be walking the first guy

Good stuff.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 Damn I thought Davis tied it up there

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 So I'm beginning to think that Wilmer Font is not the answer here.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 Font is Comic Sans. It's like an Italian food festival with this guy-- endless meatballs on plates.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 You don't suppose his wife's name is Arial, do you?

LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 Gagnon has been all Times New Roman since coming in.All for naught, though, unless we put some runs on these Wingdings.

LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 He's leaving more over the plate this inning. To the meat of the Nat lineup, no less.Good pitch to get Kendrick out, though.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 Todd Frazier is not like everybody else.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2019 Author Posted May 15, 2019 I like me a quick game now and then but this Cy Corbin dude is redic'.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 Well, this was the one game in the series where the pitching matchup was decidedly NOT in our favor.Would have been nice if we could have kept it a bit more competitive though.I do like the fact that the Nats feel compelled to go to their closer -- and, really, their one reliable arm out in the pen -- in a four run game in front of a quick turnaround leading into a day game.Bring it on Doolittle!
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 Was hoping to get one of the bullpen dirtbags here in the 9th.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 That was pretty terrible. At least Familia looked good.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 Game ended when McNeil didn't score on the Davis double.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 Hey-- now we've got the rest of our night for activities!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 Johnny Lunchbucket wrote:Game ended when McNeil didn't score on the Davis double.Yeah, the bullpen did as much as they could to bail out Font. I put this loss on the offense.McNeil, as confident as he is at the plate with his goofy bat, seems a little out of his depth on the basepaths, which is funny because he's there often enough.I feel like I was writing that same statement, more or less, about Daniel Murphy 10 years ago.
