Dear Black Sports,

I want to root for the little guy against three publishing behemoths here, but yellow cover lines on a white background is unacceptable.

Went with David Wright. I never liked the shadows on the pinstripes, and really didn't like the black crown cap with the pinstripes. But other than that, a great portrait of the Captain!

I feel bad for Frank. He's not exactly a household face. He gets a magazine cover, and his name couldn't be printed any smaller.

That David Wright cover is striking. That Darryl Strawberry cover is memorable. That Frank Cashen cover is merited.

But today is Willie Mays's 88th birthday, and I ain't voting against him today.
