Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Mickey Calloway has no problem bringing in Diaz up 4 runs in the ninth. But a one run lead in the 8th? Nah.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 15, 2019 Author Posted April 15, 2019 Here's the way to win if you're complaisant with evil: With everybody wearing the same uniform number, no names on the back, and cowls on their face, the Mets triumph by putting Alonso back in the game but telling everybody it's d'Arnaud.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Good showing, Mets fans chanting at the ballpark. I hear you.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Dom showing up the ump. Lucky he didn't get tossed
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 I *hate* bringing guys in with the bases loaded, especially when those guys are Mets relievers, who can't throw strikes for shit.At my daughter's first Little League game last week, our nine-year-old pitcher-- an athletic kid, but a first-timer on the mound-- was laboring a bit, and racked up two walks. His father (something of a "Come ON, Connor" Alpha) was at the fence, and grumbling to the manager a bit. Our manager turns to him, and quietly says, "I don't want the kid to lose heart. Do you want me to take him out?" Alpha Dad says nothing. Manager turns back to the game, and to nobody in particular, says, "Anybody I bring in here is going to walk two guys right after coming in anyway."I mean, he gets it.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Avilan? Should I just turn off the set now?

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Wait so they're all right handed. Why Avilan?
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 I don't fucking know anymore.I mean, they've called up Drew Gagnon. They've got Sewald. THEY'VE GOT GODDAMN DIAZ.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 I mean. They are all right handed. All of them.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Because Harper is up if the Phillies load the bases here, and then you've got him lefty-lefty. Savvy, Mickey. Savvy.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 (edited) Relentless change-ups from a soft-tossing lefty to righties with men in scoring position.I almost-- ALMOST-- want a hit/loss here, if only so Mickey doesn't learn the wrong lesson here. Edited April 15, 2019 by Guest
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 What a pitch to get out Segura
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 15, 2019 Author Posted April 15, 2019 Great change, but Avilan is adjusting his grip before he puts the ball in his glove. I knew the change was coming from the centerfield camera, and I imagine the runner on second did.

LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Now Neshek for an inning or two. Plus, I think they just recalled that Arano kid with the nasty slider from last year.Extra-inning game or no last night, the Phillies still have more quality length in the bullpen.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Drew Gagnon is next unless they lead which they may never do.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Just took a Nimmo foul ball in the face-- Barksdale is a tough old ump. I mean, he's also kinda terrible at calling balls and strikes. But still... tough.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Oh, FUCK a bunt. With all due respect, Gary and Keith, STFU.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 15, 2019 Author Posted April 15, 2019 Please don't send d'Arnaud up to bunt when deGrom could give it to you.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Watch travvy smash into a triple play here
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Guaranteed DP here since d'Arnaud couldn't get the bunt down.

seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Or not.Time to earn your Metliness, Robbie.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Great job there Mickey. You burned the last bench player for NO DAMN REASON. The Mets have 10 coaches and the same crap goes on.
