So Alonso could very well be in 3rd place (and almost certainly in 4th at worst) before the end of his second season despite having played in just two of the twelve seasons of the stadium.

Sophomore jinx. But if he hits, say, 38 or so, I won't be surprised. They'll try to pitch him differently, and I expect he'll be pitched around quite a bit. Important to have a good power bat behind him ready to clean up.

And if half-ish of those 40-ish come at home it'll put him in 4th place for stadium history just a few behind Wright.

Slightly more than 40, and/or with a better H/R mix, and he moves into 3rd.

Either way, as long as we don't hear a sentence starting with -- 'and in a striking similarity to the injury Yeonis Cespedes suffered, Pete Alonso was placed today on ...' -- at some point next

year, 4th place is all-time is about the worst he'll wind up in despite not being there for nearly 85% of the stadium's history.

I think it was "The Long Season" by Jim Brosnan in which I read the memorable line,"You don't run fast enough to pull a muscle".

I hope that's true for Pete.
