Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 May the good times continue! Jason Vargas against, uh somebody. 7:10 start.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 The Mets tonight get Jose Urena, the Marlins ace(?), who got battered by the Rocks on Opening Day. He enters the day with a 9.64 ERA.Conforto has a 1.060 OPS in 19 ABs and is my WITTNER© brand metronomes pick-to-click.Nimmo has a 1.017 OPS in 10 ABs with 2 walks and a homer, so a good night for the kid to start his 2019 season.LGM

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 77.78% of the starting lineup has a name that ends with either an S or an O. Replace Smith with Alfonso and the percentage would be even higher!
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 (edited) Nimmo will have 6 hits tonight, heard it here first. Edited April 2, 2019 by Guest
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Team hasn't amended the Twitter line-up so I assume it's what they're going with.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Why did we trade for Keon Broxton again?Assuming Twitter is right, we're loading the lefties. Go Sleepy Dom! Keep up the good start.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Conforto has a gift RBI with a runner on third and nobody on that side to field the bunt, but he's just swinging away.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 The Mets otherwise killing it against the shift. Up 2-0 in the first with the bags juiced.fMattingly, get a clue.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Did I say 2-0? It's 4-0 after Rosario tears the ass out of the ball for a double.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 The Marlins are ... fundamentally unsound.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 We're back to the top of the order. At 23 minutes and counting, this half-inning's verging on a half-hour.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 The Marlins suck and are ruining the spirit of competition in baseball for like the third time in the last 20 years. They totally should be relegated.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 I miss the Curtis who used to start off the season, like, 2-for-35 and then spend the rest of the year catching up.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Vargas acting all Vargassy
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 While flipping around between workout and dinner earlier, I happened to alight on SNY for one of the ShoutyGuys shows, and ShoutyGuy One (Sal Somethingorother?) was decrying Matz's inconsistency, saying that he'd rather have Vargas' 3-4 runs/5 innings, because "you know what you're getting." ShoutyGuy Two candy-assedly agreed.TLDR: Probably don't want to watch SNY when it's not pregame, game, or postgame.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Maybe our slogan this year is: "Fuck Your Shift?"
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Yeah, definitely Something Something Fuck Something.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Nice try, Steve Gelbs, but you fumbled that segment like you were picking it up with a catcher's mitt.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Vargas working out of flux with Earth time.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Vargas looks like he's worried about the double-shift he's going to work later DJing tonight at Scandals or Bazooms or some such.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 If we get five innings and only four runs or less from Vargas tonight, it will be a minor miracle.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Yeah, it's one run through three, but I'm not quite sure how he's doing it.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2019 Author Posted April 2, 2019 Vargas is to pitching what Steve Gelbs is to trumpet playing.
