They've made a decision not to pitch Noah or Jake against NL East teams this spring. I'm not sure whether I like this approach. It may be good for their egos, but some of the games have looked like batting practice for the opponents. I don't want to get those guys feeling confident when they walk up to the plate to face a pitcher wearing a Mets uniform. As Yogi said, "Half this game is 90% mental".

Gary's unavailability, being knee-deep in calling college hoops these days, probably cuts into which games are TV-ised.

Not sure I buy the Gary slant; they have plenty of bodies to fill the

booth in his SHbb absence as well as Ron's MLBtv commitments

and Keith being Keith. They've been cheaping out fewer and fewer

games it seems each year because they don't want to pay the pro-

duction costs. I mean, who watches (dvr's) these games but us nuts?

Ad money is probably next to nothing. I'm sticking with cheaping out.

Maybe. Is the production costs:advertising income for a three camera spring game that much worse than what they'd be alternatively showing on SNY?

I should have left ad income out, I sunk myself with that. They don't

want to pay for 2-3 truck-loads of AV stuff, the labor, etc. Cheap cost-

cutting bullshit imo. Twins were on today, big market guys that they are.

Howie said today on a call that he couldn't confirm something

in the booth because they had no tv replay. Big market Mets.
