In addition to Vargas's mild hamstring tightness, Matz is back in NY being examined for nerve irritation in his left arm.

Yeah, I'm guessing Matz mitzes a start and Vargas hits the DL at least briefly.

That DL trip opens a up a spot for Font, and Oswalt probably gets at least one start in there, which may well be a good thing.

You still say, "DL"?

What are you — racist?

I heard Eddie Coleman refer to Citi Field as Shea Stadium during a pregame show last week and sort of enjoyed how familiar it sounded, but yeah, ingrained habits are hard to break.

IL. The aforementioned transaction was the IL. No disrespect intended to the differently abled.

Wilson back to IL with recurring left elbow soreness, Hanhold up.

Cespedes stepped in a hole, fractured an ankle. But damn he was good in 2015.

Cespedes and Harvey were coming back from Duaner Sanchez's place for Dominican food on Cinco de Mayo.

With all that has defined the Mets' past week, it can almost be overlooked that they have added five players to the injured list, all of them significant elements of the team. That can't be good.

As I mentioned in the Binghamton thread, Ruben Tejada is back in the organization, and is hitting well in AA.

Hey, he's only 29 years old and it seems like a lifetime since his injury.

Wouldn't it be poetic justice if he came back and led the Mets to the World Series?

And after he drives in the winning run, he could face the tv cameras, give the one finger peace symbol and say, "This is for you, Chase Utley!"
