I want no part of this guy, and would hope Chief Brodie would agree.

I recall a comment that Puig looks up to Cespedes. If Yo was around, then it would be a good fit.

Pretty good with the bat and glove, not prohibitively expensive salary-wise. I'm not sure I'd pay a lot with no guarantee of regular playing time, but he could be a useful asset.

If he comes he is the everyday rightfielder and cleanup hitter. That's how I see it at least.

Here is the interesting part. . .

You move his $9.2 million in and then move Frazier's $9 million out in some other deal. By doing these two things simultaneously, you create a spot for McNeil and have more money to play with for the bullpen (assuming you don't sign a catcher or, more likely, sign Maldonado for a $5 million-ish AAV and then DFA d'Arnaud). How does Miller, Adam Warren, and one out of Robertson/Ottavino/Soria/Herrera/Kelly sound to go along with Diaz, Gsellman, and Lugo?

Whaddya think everybody was saying about the '86 Mets? Lenny Dykstra wasnt so much of a douchebag when he was on your side.

As someone else noted, nobody liked the 1986 Mets.
And the World Series winning Gashouse Gang Cardinals used to fight each other in the locker room.

I'd rather win with "nice" and "We are Fam-i-lee".
But if they go after douchebags, I hope they would be productive douchebags.

Boy, high-risk. If he got off to a bad start this could be an epic fail. He has enormous talent, but also suffers brain farts the size of Staten Island at times. Properly motivated he could be a force, but no one's ever been able to KEEP him properly motivated for long periods of time. An absent Cespedes will be no help, and when/if Cespedes returns he'll see his playing time diminish as a result.

I highly disagree.

Yeah, see, that's two people right there.

I even liked George Foster. Doug Sisk. I liked some of them more than others, but the only guy on the team I recall disliking was Dykstra.

What does Puig do specifically? Complain to the media? Not play hard?

It looks like his numbers are down a little from when he first arrived.

Seems to have power. Speed. Doesn’t hit for average. I guess it comes down to what it would cost us in terms of talent and how much of aheadache would be.

Teammates have complained about his stinky attitude since before his first game. And beyond not hustling, sometimes he just shuts it down. Don Mattingly has also accused him of "grabbing something every time he strikes out, suggesting that he pretends to be hurt to cover up for failure.
