How silly. The Mets may be up or down by eight runs. A pinch-hitting appearance by David Wright isn't going to change the result of the game. To use that as a blanket excuse for not letting him play is absurd.

Useless. Syndergaard pitches a brilliant game then Mickey puts on his manager hat, Gsellman stinks it up, Jackson fails to do the one thing he is slightly capable of doing, and the lead is lost. It doesn't matter next week but it matters now.
