looks like we get the AL central. Can clinch at home.

Lots of road games early it seems - 2 west coast trips in May.

Summer family road trip getaway: Cubs, White Sox Twins?

Man, interleague scheduling is messed up. 2 home/away with each MIN and NYY, 3 at home with each DET and CLE, 3 away with each CWS and KC.

Visiting MIN and CWS gives me a few chances to see them in the Midwest next season. I'll meet up with anyone traveling to Minneapolis or Chicago.

Was hoping the Detroit games would be here. But We can get to Minn and especially Chicago!

Tribe visit, first to the sunny side of NYC since 2004, will make Mariners only AL team to have not dropped by Citi Field. They were last in Queens in 2008.

Only four days off between May and June. They play 20 straight days at one point, followed by a day off, followed by eight straight days, followed by a day off, followed by 18 straight.

That's 46 games in 48 days. Mickey should use about 35 pitchers.

Then they get every Monday off in July. Weird.

Used to be that you couldn't get scheduled for more than 19 in a row -- even rain make-ups had to be approved by the players if it were to run afoul of that guideline.
Weird that they now somehow can't lay out a sked without 20 straight even though there are four extra days built into the season.

Off days per month: 5, 2, 2, 9, 4, 2
That 9 in July includes the four for the ASB, but there are still five others after just two in May & June.

The IL layout is normal. Yanx are always a 2+2 situation unless it's an East vs East year when it's 3+3.
And there always seems to be one team where you get an extra game; it was the O's this year, Twins next.

Yeah, that eight-games-in-fifteen-days stretch is weird. I guess you figure there's a rainout makeup game somewhere in there.

For your late-night viewing plans:

The LA & SD trips are both mid-week, although the first of the four in LA is on Memorial Day so probably an earlier start for that one.
At SF & ARZ are weekend deals and SFG usually play Saturday games during the day.
@ Colorado is a Mon-Wed series in mid-Sept

So who do we think is finishing second in the NL East? The Braves? we finish up against them, it could be a fight to the finish!

or the Phillies? ba to back weekend series to open the final month but those are the only six in the second half. similar to the Nats, who we see 13 times in before the end of may.

way to early to accertain which teams will be good, but sans a respite against the Red and Marlins before that final series, September looks tough. Hell, add in three against the Nats as 'easy' and mid-august on at least looks like it could be real tough.

July 4 is an off-day. That's some stupid shit.

The Mets are getting the MFYs right after their trip to London.

And it's not even a travel day. What the heck?

May have something to with MFYs coming in, they are getting extra days off before and after because they are arriving from a London series with Red Sox

So not only are the Yankees dishonoring our schedule, but they're also dishonoring America. Check.

That's not it: the MFYs go from Citi Field to Tampa for July 4.

Night games in ATL start at 7:20 next year? I guess that's another 10 minutes for traffic. EDIT: not another 10 minutes, 15 minutes earlier than this year's 7:35 game time.
Howie hoped that the two series in Chicago would be back-to-back, but they are not.

I hadn't even noticed that.
That shit should be illegal.

How are they going to wear their flag caps???

Thinking that
August 1 Mets at White Sox
August 2 Brewers at Cubs
August 3 or 4 Mets at Pirates

Would make for a nice road trip with Little Solo

Indians have a full week in NY in August. 4 with the Yanks and 3 in Citi.

Yup. Fly to Chitown, steal a car (or rent one if you're not man enough) then drive your way back east with maybe a post-Pit pit-stop in Cooperstown.

Also the ESPN Sunday night games are moving up to 7:00 - or at least a 7 PM air time with a yet to be announced, though probably 7:15-ish, first pitch.
That game had been 8:00 EDT since its inception with only occasional exceptions.

While on the topic of baseball and ESPN, they're dropping their simulcast of MLBN's afternoon yuk-fest (or yuck-fest depending on your pov) 'Intentional Talk' with chatty ex-BoSox guy plus that other guy.
It was probably drawing an audience of dozens for them.
On the other hand the new ESPN prez is said to be less hostile to baseball than the old one (John Skipper) who was shipped out under vaguely-defined drug-related circumstances so that some version
of 'Baseball Tonight' might actually be seen more than once a week as the lead-in to SNB. It used to be an almost daily show back when ESPN at least pretended to still care about anything other than
pigskins and hoops.

June 29th versus the Braves has this on the promo schedule: 1969 Pregame Ceremony & Pennant

Presumably, surviving members of the 69 World Series Champions will be celebrated in person that evening.
