Thinking the same. That team was even deader, I think.

Remember when athletes simply played the game without hot dogging. I'm old school, just do your job.

Dumb mistake by Smith costs the Mets an easy out to start the inning.

Booth beating up Dom pretty good. And he deserves it.

Was he really hot dogging it? It looked to me like that was just where his momentum was carrying him. Either way, crappy play dropping the ball.

I think taking your glove between your legs during the transfer of the ball from your glove to your throwing hand doesn't seem to be the norm. It seemed like he was styling a bit.

Books!!!

I can understand Dom trying to add some flash there. But that's not the time for it.

Was Dom' move a stupid one? ... yeah, of course, even though that's a move I'm sure he's done 1,000 times.
But think about it this way: if that muffed transfer occurs with the mitt anywhere other than underneath his legs, that gets called an out.
It's like the umps/replay was punishing him for his style rather than focusing on the act itself. But the call shouldn't be different from what it would be if he attempted to transfer above his thighs.

Down to their last strike and that Bautista double was pretty lucky.
The 2018 Mets haven't seen much luck like that.

Jay is a good enough fielder that that play should have been made. And the pitcher should not have let that get to him, but for once that's a different team's problem.

Familia came into the game with a .342 BABIP, and today he gave up another infield hit (lately it seems he's been good for one of these an outing) and a very weak bloop to score a run. He's been the most unlucky guy on the team.

But Nimmo is an All-Star.

Turned the game off, down 3-1 in the ninth and showing their usual zero heart, and because dinner was just getting put on the table. How surprised I was to see after we finished eating and cleaning up that they had come back to win!

Two in a row for the first time since a four game win streak, May 18-21.

Had you stayed tuned, it might have gone something like this.

Has Bob Costas made a statement yet?

Also notable is that the Arizona defense, which had been airtight and dazzing this series, made a few key miscues, but only when the uncharacteristically aggressive Mets put some pressure on them: Nimmo tearing ass down the line to beat out the throw to first as both the secondbaseman and firstbaseman rushedly played it poorly, Nimmo stealing second, Reyes beating out a bunt as the catcher panicked and picked it up.

I also saw more of our lefthanders keeping the bat head back and shooting for the wide-open holes on the left side. Be aggressive, Mets!

Kudos also to Gsellie for keeping his head after Smitty's miscue.

that call against Smith was bs and the umpires (especially the review crew) should feel bad.

Was this call reviewed? Atrocious call.
