How have you expressed your frustration with the Mets this season? I'm not talking about just getting into a silly thread-war with a fellow CPF'er, I'm talking about throwing something, yelling, changing your mind about going to a game or watching a movie on the Hallmark Channel with your wife instead of the game.

I'll start: I bought an NFL preview magazine. In June instead of August.

I watch fewer and fewer games. And this is saying something. I am the easiest fan for the Mets to have. A lifer. A baseball junkie who hates the crosstown team.

All I ask for is effort. And the Wilpons don’t give that. So why the fuck should I?

I heard Piazza threw out the first pitch? That’s awful. Mike deserves better. Until they make an effort to win I’d decline any public appearances.

No anger or rage, but I've essentially stopped watching. Still paying close attention, but not watching. I'm sure I'll resume at some point. I can't imagine waiting until next April to watch baseball again.

YLDB fb friend from school K-12 posted this this morning. I had to save and express...

I haven’t changed anything. Optimistic they’ll turn it around. They’re coming to Toronto in early July and I’m thinking about heading over and cheering them on.

Relentless positive action!

I'm trying to be positive. I felt like I willed the first inning last night. But, as I remarked in the game thread, the Mets fell sleep so quickly and as soon as Matz got through 1 struggle inning they retired themselves so quickly Matz had barely enough toime to catch his breath and that's out course when he gives up the lead.

It's a virtuous circle of shit contributions they're in right now, and I can't see a catalyst. It's a down kind of optimism I have.

I am rapidly losing interest. Aside from DeGrom, Nimmo, Cabrerra, and Syndergaard there is little reason to watch the Mets.

I question the sanity of my son and I traveling to NYC in July for a weekend to see the Mets. If it were not for the possible tailgating with CPF friends, it would not be worth the time and expense.

I've thought about the 2018 Mets in the context of the franchise's myriad other not very good seasons and sort of wondered what all the fuss is about because -- despite the current 16-33 skein, which is admittedly atrocious -- surely they've been worse, which may not be inspirational, but it's something I can live with.

I'm watching less. They're just not putting a competitive product on the field right now. The lack of hitting is alarming and while the starters are good for 5 innings, after that it's blammo.

I'm also starting to get comfortable with the notion that either Thor or deGrom (or both) get moved for a king's ransom this winter, but only after Sandy Alderson is fired.

It will be interesting to see if Alderson is allowed to continue if the Mets do end up as sellers at the deadline.

Looking at his results, I can't see how anyone can justify allowing him to start another rebuild, however smart he may be. (or perceived to be)

Although, I guess if the Mets are going to continue to be constrained in payroll and if the Wilpon meddling is real, then I guess it doesn't matter who's wearing the GM hat.

And if and when Sandy goes, they're just going to promote from within anyway.

John Ricco has been the 'heir' for like 20 years.

They're not starting a rebuild no matter how this season goes.

Alderson is under contract through next year and it seems unlikely they'd make a change.

A half-empty ballpark for 3 months might force their hand.

unlikely to get significantly emptier nor is that likely to force their hand.

I don't see a blow-it-up-and-rebuild coming, but I can imagine Sandy not coming back for 2019.

It should be clear to them that they need a different approach. What approach they take, of course, remains to be seen. I want to see them loosen the purse strings. I think that's a possibility, but probably not the most likely one.

Which approach is the one that gets Conforto, Rosario, and Smith to hit like they were projected or shown to be able to?

And could we take it now instead of next year?

That's part of why I think the current issues are as much or more about deployment strategy as acquisition strategy.

"MLB DID NOTHING TO THAT GUY. NOTHING. GOD DAMN. FUCKING BULLSHIT!"

I was so mad at Terry when the Utley play went down. He needed to be that mad right then and there. Get himself thrown out of the game. I honestly think he was caught off guard and just didn't know how to react.

But man, you can hear all of that come out right there. The pent up frustration. You can't fake that kind of passion.

As much as I didn't think TC was a great on-field manager, he was definitely one of the more likeable ones we've had. Fire. Heart. Love it.

I was on board with letting him go and bringing in the new smart guy. Now that it looks like new guy may not be that smart, I don't know what to think.

"FUCKING **********! YOU GOTTA GIVE US OUR SHOT!"

Watching that clip on loop, even as the game is being played now.

I feel like every Mets fan on earth can related to Terry there.

I've been watching less, and checking in in-game only some of the time. I work nights, mostly, and even when I'm off, it takes effort/bargaining for me to watch games in toto. I feel... uncompelled to make this effort, especially to see a team which is like bad supermarket ice cream-- flat, formless, generic vanilla only worth consuming when in family-sized groups. Hell, I'm off, awake, and mostly unoccupied today, and I've watched nary an inning.

There's a World Cup in a day or so. Even as it's USAless and steaming-pile-of-FIFA-ful, I'll probably be watching that more closely than these palookas.

I have a question for you. Syndergaard threw behind Utley there and missed him.

If, instead of an ejection, there was only a warning, does Noah throw at him again?

I say yes without a doubt.

No anger, no rage , just indifference....I had the game on last night but it was really just background noise, and what happened perfectly sums up the Mets ...they just implode
