seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 Vargas vs Teheran, which might just be the worst mismatch in the history of baseball. The Braves could score 30 runs tonight.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 This is one of those games where Mickey should leave Vargas in for seven innings no matter how badly he's being hammered. Two runs, six runs, fifteen runs, I don't care. Take one for the team, Jason.

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 This should be a day game, stupid scheduling imo.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 I expect nothing here from Vargas and whomever follows him from the bullpen....we are awful
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2018 Author Posted May 30, 2018 My lingering forever memory of Teheran will be the Father's Day game at Citi Field a few years back that my kids took me to. The Mets got a hit in the second inning while we were getting food, and nothing the rest of the game. In like the sixth inning, my daughter was like "do the Mets ever get to get a hit?"Sigh.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 I read where Jason Vargas was referred to as a Mets remaining healthy reliable arm after deGrom. Reallly? This team is allergic to prosperity
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 I'm not sure where you read that.Looking forward to seeing the 2018 launch of Lugo the Starter.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 Even "healthy" is debatable, the way he's pitched.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 Also, Vargas needs to throw 110 pitches tonight and i don't care how many runs he gives up. The bullpen is fried and needs a break.

Guest cooby Guests Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 Well the Mets are ahead 1-0 after several innings and nobody is here Just saying guys if this is the beginning of a 30 game win streak and no one was here to start the party, you’ll all be sorry...
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 Vargas has been both in control (no runs, 2 hits, 1 BB) and efficient (64 pitches thru 5)
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 Tim Peterson MLB debut vs Albies - Freeman - Markakis = 1-2-3 on 7 pitches.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 Finally one of those fucking bloops goes our way.Lord knows the Braves have gotten their share of those this series.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 He was on short rest and they didn't want the lineup to get a 3rd turn against him, I think, was the guesses that Gary & Keith threw out there.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 Leaving the bases loaded in the 8th not the most comforting feeling.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 Familia in the 8th? I don't know what Mickey's thinking at this point. Six out save again?
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 Fuck this bullpen, seriously. So done with Familia.
