Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 13, 2018 Author Posted May 13, 2018 Céspedes is getting a lot out of some rusty trucks today.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 that was a nice play Ces
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 13, 2018 Author Posted May 13, 2018 Well, that hurts. Not even a strike.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Mickey had Blevins in the bullpen and a lefty at the plate. As Ronnie said, if Blevins isn't going to pitch against the lefty, then when?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 I was OK sticking with Seawald there. Results sukked, but I'm not going to second guess the (non) move.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 The Mets "future stars" come up back to back: strikeout and groundout. The Mets really know how to develop hitters! One will be back in the minors very soon and the other should be in the minors.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 13, 2018 Author Posted May 13, 2018 Up in the minors? Two balls surprisingly held by the park today as Caberera knocks in Neeeemo.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 So now we have a pitching change which didn't work to go along with the non move that didn't work.Tack that on to the 3 DPs plus the caught-stealing erasing four of our many baserunners and this one isn't looking like it's going to end well.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 (edited) Zero input from SS again. The "Future Star" is worthless right now and should be in the minors. Another overhyped Mets prospect.Prove me wrong, Amed. Please.G. Torres and Acuna: stars from day one. The most Dom Smith has accomplished is losing 7 pounds and learning about punctuality. ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Time to assess shortstop. I don't see anything from him that seems special, nothingWasn't Plawecki supposed to be out 2 weeks, 6 weeks ago???

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Only 2 teams in MLB have scored fewer runs than the Mets this year. There are several teams that are actively tanking, seven teams are on pace to lose 100 games. Five of those teams are scoring more runs than the Mets. This is what happens when you fail to upgrade a bad offense during the winter. JD Martinez is the guy we needed. Instead, he went to Boston after sitting available all winter. He’s crushing it, of course. .337 AVG, 9 HR. .988 OPS. The Red Sox are in first place and playing .700 baseball.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 The Mets are probably saving up for Bryce Harper after this season. Harper's the kind of player a NYC team gets, right?
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Without a doubt. Kershaw too. 2019 is going to kick ass.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 There's no way they'll try another desperation Hail Mary like taking a flyer on someone like Michael Cuddyer, a 35 year old coming off major back surgery and a missed season because that's a small market move that almost never pans out and we're the Mets of New York fucking City!

If you look at the 51's roster, there's no shortstop listed. Cecchini is more of a 2B (and he's hurt anyway}. And you can't run Reyes out there. He needs to be released instead.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 14, 2018 Author Posted May 14, 2018 If there's such thing as a "true shortstop," then there's one right at the next locker named Guillorme.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 I’d be all in favor of giving Guillorme a shot.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 I would start Guillorme and Lagares. Let Cespedes heal that quad. We are just asking him to blow it out. 1. Nimmo LF2. Guillorme SS3. Cabrera 3B4. Flores 3B5. Conforto RF6. Lagares CF7. Bruce 1B8. Desoraco C
