Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 Brewers RH Jhoulys Chacín (0-1, 6.59 ERA) vs. Mets RH Noah Syndergaard (2-0, 3.94)
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 I wonder if Gary Cohen knows how to pronounce "Jhoulys".
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 I hope someone does because I certainly don't.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 I believe you're up to the task, G. A new streak starts today, if you believe it does.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 Love the sentiment behind Jackie Robinson Day. Not sure I feel the same about the 42 tradition. Seems a bit unnecessary and silly and detracts from the overall, serious message. I feel like announcers and fans get caught up making dumb “it’s 42 again, he’s everywhere” jokes.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 Cloudy / Windy (20 mph) / 41But the rain is expected to hold off until 4, so they have incentive to get the thing started on time and over with as quickly as possible.Games already canceled today in Cleveland vs TOR, Minneapolis vs CWS, Chicago vs Braves. And also in Detroit where the afternoon half of a scheduled split DH is a makeup of yesterday's washout vs the Yanx and is itself now a washout. The second half of the DH appears to be in limbo for now.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2018 Author Posted April 15, 2018 The players are all wearing 42, but the thermometer can't get above 41.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 For some of us, note that the game is now part of MLBN's regional coverage this afternoon.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 Cespedes has to be wearing 10 pounds of armor and winter wear
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 Somebody let Reyes know the season has started.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 Great play by Ron Taylor to get Ron Taylor!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 Odd time to burn a pinch-hitter and a catcher, Mick.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 Thor looks locked in in the mound and hitting too!
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 Odd time to burn a pinch-hitter and a catcher, Mick.Yeah, Gary's saying the same thing. Not sure if the logic was that Syndergaard is a better hitter than Nido (a distinct possibility), or what. Even so, there's a good chance Nido would have drawn the walk. Either way, why do all that burning in a game that very well can go into extras?I dunno. I want to think that Mickey is playing six-dimensional chess. Maybe he was trying to get an insurance run thinking that the game may be rain-shortened.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 And Syndergaard ends up getting one more out and departing.
