Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 I have the dextrous hands and the nimble feet to be the shortstop of the future for any team. ANY team. But the Mets have a two-way player they're trying to develop at shortstop. He's already sped past me in the system. So I'm working on becoming more versatile, developing my offensive skills, and maybe, if the wind is right, catch a few bats along the way.But as a guy born to be a shortstop, my path is uncertain. I mean, I could KILL Rosario. I could even make it look like an accident. I'm from Florida, and there's no shortage of crazies down here, and I KNOW a few of them, you know? But it would have been smarter to do it a few years back, while the guy was still developing. Do it now, and everybody would suspect me. And I'd have to act all sad and unworthy to take his place. FUCK that. HE'S the one who's unworthy. And yeah, I'm fat. So what? IT'S GENETICS! Oh, what's the use?!Man, let me stand up ... WHOAH! I don't think I should DRIVE, man! What's that? You already have my keys?! Then let's get out of here, man! Who has my beard? What year is it? WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN TO ME?!!I love you.[*// puke][fimg=388]https://cdn.chatsports.com/cache/cb/86/cb86668b4162f2e8d704cd3648b048a4-original.jpg[/fimg] [fimg=312]https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/nwFePdHdZnQINCjfNSGrAtTD-Yk=/0x0:2041x2857/1200x800/filters:focal(622x656:948x982)/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_image/image/56072445/usa_today_9922804.0.jpg[/fimg] [fimg=392]https://content.sny.tv/assets/images/2/5/0/228046250/cuts/USATSI_9944492_e2f7my9a_axe5tf0y.jpg[/fimg] [fimg=308]http://metsminors.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/IMG_0151-e1490748038648.jpg[/fimg] [fimg=350]http://media.sny.tv/sny/2017/03/02/images/snyf_1228752283_th_48.jpg[/fimg] [fimg=350]https://videos.metro.co.uk/pix/met/2017/03/03/15/3DEB73B300000578-0-image-a-2_1488553762058.jpg[/fimg]
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 I think there's too many dudes in front of him to allow for any significant PT at the big league level, but he'll see some time at short and second and (say 50 ABs) and get on base at clip that makes people wonder if he should be the dude at second going into 2019.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 Gets a cuppa in September. Not sure he'll ever hit enough, but his defense is major-league ready.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 This new age of the four-man bench (really three-man, given that one of them has to be a catcher) isn't going to help Luis' chances.

Even if they don't explicitly undermine your game, bellies make your defense harder to sell.

smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 I expect him to stay when Frazier comes off the DL. Jose, it's been nice knowing you.

There's got to be a special assistant role or something.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 16, 2018 Author Posted May 16, 2018 I don't guess it's gonna break that way.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Just a tiny bit of perspective here for a sec:Guillorme = ~675 OPS over the A/AA levels in 2016-17Reyes = 828 over the second half last yeariow, let's not go too crazy over 3 ABs (or even over Reyes's 48 so far this year)
