  1. The Rays uniforms look like a minor league batting practice jersey. I don't think the Rays have ever had good uniforms.
  2. Pete ties David Wright! He's on fire.
  3. I was kinda thinking they'd come out guns blazing tonight. Not happening so far.
  4. I'm sure there will be a sketchy proposal for a largely public funded domed South Side Stadium at some point https://www.mlb.com/news/white-sox-proposed-ballpark-updatehttps://www.mlb.com/news/white-sox-proposed-ballpark-update Not a dome, but a new park. They are the Action Park of baseball franchises. This is brilliant.
  5. Benjamin Grimm wrote: My only real gripe with the White Sox is that they poached Tom Seaver. I wish the Mets had been able to poach Ted Lyons. Instead, the White Sox poached Tom Seaver I do appreciate that they, to this day, pay appropriate honors at the stadium. A mural of that era has Tom jumping into Carlton Fisk's arms after the 300th win.
  6. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Think about all the cool things you get when you purchase the White Sox --charter American League franchise --an "outlaw" image from the Black Sox scandal --A history of cool and experimental uniforms (red pinstripes, black pioneer, shorts and collars, brutalist SOX, flying sock) --Infrequent glory but memorable teams like "Go-Go Sox" and "Winning Ugly" --Underdog positioning vs the Cubs, who are actually easy to topple and owned by worse people than you --Colorful historical authority figures like Charles Comiskey, Bill Veeck, Kid Gleason, Ozzie Guillen --Lots of Hall of Famers And colorful folks like Minne Minoso, with a glorious baseball nickname and legendary fan engagement.
  7. =Centerfield post_id=194404 time=1749003740 user_id=65] Tylor Megill coming up. Capable of seven scoreless or giving up 6 in the bottom of the first. Both equally as likely.
  8. I miss Roger That. I didn't always agree with his points, but I liked the discussions. It's a shame he feels he was chased out.
  9. About two batters too late.
  10. Megill has some moments, but I think he's the odd man out when Montas, Manaea and Blackburn return.
  11. Huge!!! Bring in the White Sox and Rockies!!
  12. Scuba plus top of the order has to work this time!
  13. Minnesota Twins winning streak up to 13!
  14. The best part of Yankee fans turning their back on Juan Soto is seeing how many of them bought jerseys with names on the back. Do they not know? Best one is the guy in the top left with RUTH 3 on his! https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GrG6Kz1XIAANv0K?format=jpg&name=small>
  15. I have more faith in Canning than I do in Megill.
  16. Megill is the starter I feel is most likely to disappoint.
  17. Some of this seems to be media driven.
  18. Maybe deGrom would be comparable. I'd cheer for him.
  19. Seeing all these stories about how the mouth breathing Yankee fans are gearing up to boo Soto, and I don't get it. Trying to think of a Mets comparison. If Pete had signed with the rival Braves or Phillies and was making his return to Citi Field, would Mets fans boo him upon his return? https://ca-times.brightspotcdn.com/dims4/default/46aee79/2147483647/strip/true/crop/2582x1964+0+0/resize/320x243!/quality/75/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcalifornia-times-brightspot.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fea%2F78%2Fb6889d8f4bf5bea996309322c525%2F1481345-la-sp-world-series-dodgers-yankees-game4-ws1922a.jpg> I realize people who do stupid stuff like this are pretty much capable of anything. But I don't get the booing.
  20. Ugh. Not good. We've certainly had chances.
