1. Something about the Phillies is a little scary, though the post-game interviews are interesting. Phillies 7 - (4-3) Yankees- 2 - (1-1) Rockies 4 - (4-0) Dodgers 3 - (2-1) Braves 4 - (3-1)
2. I like Medina.
3. the scumbag of a former cop, who's solution to fake crime statistics is to harass homeless people, was relevant to the conversation, as he's got sway in what happens here. Just the "he approves of the stadium" is relevant because there are only so many things you can put there, and mentioning one without talking about the affordable housing (you know, to put the homeless people you're trying to kill in) or the school, is relevant. This is NYC real estate, they're going to be fighting to maximize revenue/profit/riches/power and schools and affordable housing are roadblocks to them that they'd like to avoid, the only thing standing in the way is government regulations that are supposed to help protect citizens, but as we've seen from our favorite ex-cop asshole who lives in NJ, he doesn't care about them. Hot takes, unburdened by the weight of truth. Like Twitter.
4. Bummer. That was very winnable. Feel bad for Peterson.
5. https://i.ebayimg.com/thumbs/images/g/t0AAAOSwi-RijY0U/s-l300.jpg> Something along these lines! Black jersey with the white letters -- not sure if it would say Queens or New York, but hopefully not Flushing -- with the player numbers in the colored circles, one numeral per circle, under the writing. Unisphere patch on the sleeve and/or on the cap!
6. Joe Girardi, who was fired by the #Phillies, said on MLB Network Radio he still "prays that they get better, and they get to the playoffs." Is this literally true? Does Girardi get down on his knees and then clasp his hands together and then concentrate real hard that the Phils make the playoffs? Does he have conversations with himself inside of his head where he says or thinks to himself that the Phils hopefully make the playoffs? What exactly goes on here? A little help Is it any different than wishing a company or business that fired you to still prosper because you understand the firing was strictly business and there is no reason to hold a grudge or burn the bridge of good relationships with people still employed there? Especially if you'd like to lean on those people for references and recommendations? Girardi is a person of faith, and speaks openly about being a person of faith and why it is important to him. If he says he is praying for his now former players, some of whom I assume he has grown close to, then I don't have a reason to doubt him. https://sportsspectrum.com/sport/baseball/2017/10/19/yankees-manager-joe-girardi-says-greatest-freedom-life-found-christ/https://sportsspectrum.com/sport/baseball/2017/10/19/yankees-manager-joe-girardi-says-greatest-freedom-life-found-christ/
7. I like Cheap Trick, though I've never had an opportunity to see them.
8. Edgy MD wrote: https://www.linkedin.com/in/andrew-christie-643395123/Andrew Christie chronologically speaking, it's probably Chris that's the nepotism hire. It's not so much the straight relations i'm concerned with, it's more the cronyism. The Mets could win 10 world series in a row and having Chris Christie on the board is still a bad thing. But beyond that, the front office is littered with point72 people, and it's way too soon to say they've been monumentally influential in changing anything about this team or it's front office, particularly if they're moonlighting! I don't have a problem with Cohen bringing in point72 people. If I'm Cohen and I just invested $2 billion in a team that is known for dysfunctional leadership, I'm going to bring in people I know I can trust to do things and do things well -- and bring an outside perspective. Christie ran a large state. Whether you agree with his politics or not, there's value in having someone with that kind of experience and around.
9. It appears the Padres are done with Cano as well. He's likely to decline a return to the minors and become a free agent. End of the line? https://www.sny.tv/articles/former-mets-2b-robinson-cano-optioned-padres-free-agenthttps://www.sny.tv/articles/former-mets-2b-robinson-cano-optioned-padres-free-agent
10. =kcmets post_id=93693 time=1653667202 user_id=53] Love The Kinks and that song. I met Dave Davies briefly outside of my hometown theatre where he was performing. He was very pleasant and we shook hands but wouldn't let me take a selfie with him. Made a joke that his good jacket was at the tailor.
11. I like what you do. This is one of my fave Kinks cuts. Wishing you the bluest skies! I know that better things are on their way.
12. I don't know if there was shame attached to not having a no-hitter, just the oddity that a team that for decades had so much great pitching had not been able to claim on -- especially with all the close calls. All those amazing pitchers. I think the Santana game was a wonderful thing for the Mets and the fans. I don't see how it was tainted. Every game has close calls and wrong calls made by humans, be it foul balls, calls on the bases, calls on strikes and balls. Part of the game.
13. Leads the team in starts, innings pitched and goes 15-7 with a 3.25 ERA.
14. I don't like it. But I'm amazed it hasn't happened sooner. Once interleague games became common to the point where there is one every day, it makes no sense to have two sets of rules.
15. Sports Illustrated once opined on Carter -- looking at both arguments -- and others. https://www.si.com/mlb/2016/05/27/new-york-mets-1986-world-series-retired-numbers-gary-carter-keith-hernandezhttps://www.si.com/mlb/2016/05/27/new-york-mets-1986-world-series-retired-numbers-gary-carter-keith-hernandez
16. Dick Allen was one vote shy. Gil, Oliva and Kaat each got exactly 75 percent with 12 votes and Minoso got 14 votes. Thrilled to see Hodges take his rightful place in Cooperstown.
17. Nov. 29, 10:36 a.m. The Mets are re-engaged in talks with Max Scherzer, with negotiations coming to a head, reports SNY's Andy Martino. Martino reported on Sunday that the Mets had offered Scherzer roughly $42 million per year over three or four years. With the CBA expiring on Dec. 1 and a lockout likely looming, Scherzer is expected to make his free agent decision at some point on Monday. As the Mets have been negotiating with Scherzer, two of their other pitching targets -- Kevin Gausman and Jon Gray -- have signed elsewhere. Gausman landed with the Toronto Blue Jays and Gray signed with the Texas Rangers. According to Martino, if the Mets don't wind up with Scherzer, they are likely to turn to the trade market to fill their starting rotation need. Guess there is something they don't like about Stroman, or his asking price is too high.
18. Billy Eppler seems to know what he's doing.
19. I'd take Matz back in a heartbeat. We'd still need to sign a couple more starters. But he showed that we all thought he was capable and would likely be playing with much better defense behind him, assuming they sign Baez. This would be a low-risk, high-reward signing.

21. Out of the basement! Bonus Question for: Bob Alpacadaca from 11/22/2021 What was the first US film to be released with a PG-13 rating? Incorrect Answers to This Question So Far: None What do you call making Cincinnati players get up for early morning workouts? Red Dawn!
22. I should have posted my comment about the Angels doing the Mets a favor in the "Moving on" thread. My mistake.
23. Bob Alpacadaca wrote: =Ceetar post_id=81261 time=1637177125 user_id=102] those don't exist, and the ones that do suck. Seriously? You don't think there are quality pitchers who don't have as many question marks as the guy who last pitched into the second inning in 2019 -- and wasn't allowed to throw breaking balls in the two innings he did pitch? There aren't. There are few pitchers better than Syndergaard, and BREAKING, they're all pitchers so they all have questionable health. Would you rather the guy that just had the Tommy John, or the one that hasn't yet?
