  1. Wilmer Flores will be playing in Mexico this season!
  2. Mike Tauchman getting surgery for a meniscus tear, so he's out for the foreseeable future.
  3. If he had a number, we could retire it! A key part of the Mets experience for nearly 40 years.
  4. Good to see you, Wolfie! You were missed.
  5. I thought Aaron Judge was supposed to be good.
  6. It's a shame that the game had to end on a bad called strike. That might overshadow the strong performances.
  7. USA! That was huge!
  8. Present and accounted for - with some appreciated assistance from Brock. Everything looks great!
  9. I don't have a problem with Hodges, Stengel or Mays. It might be a "You had to be there" kind of thing. But each have special significance to the team and the city.
  10. I didn't realize Edgy already guessed Mike Cubbage. Glad to see everyone here!
  11. Mike Cubbage! I made it here! Took some doing. It looks nice.
  12. I like Carlos Beltran, and I'm thrilled the Mets are retiring his No. 15. I think he's worthy, especially as a Hall-of-Famer wearing an interlocking NY - the good kind -- on his Cooperstown plaque. I like when the Mets salute their past. They always seemed to lag in there. We can be loud and proud. I have no problem with retiring numbers of folks like Beltran.
  13. I don't think I was indifferent at all. I thought this was the number retirement thread. I'll start another.
  14. http:// https://sny.tv/articles/mets-to-retire-carlos-beltran-number Carlos Beltran, not a creep, getting his number retired this year!
  15. Good call! That would look great!
  16. I am rooting for Nolan McLean, Clay Holmes and Team USA!!!
  17. Well, I'm afraid Schaefer is done forever. The streamlined voting form that I designed was tied in to the box score data from the UMDB, which I won't have going forward. I suppose there's a chance that the TCD could be revived, but I don't anticipate it happening. Sorry! Bummer - but completely understand.
  18. Count me in! Maybe a new place with some additional followers and the return of some prodigal friends will mean the return of beloved features like the TCD and Players of the Month. I'm sure Brock can find a job for Maja if the Stockholm office is closed for a bit.
  19. Frampton Comes Alive has some good songs. I had a 45 with “Show Me the Way” and “Baby I Live Your Way” on it. But I listened to the rest of the album a few years ago and though it was pretty “meh.”
  20. That's the one! Thank you all for participating! 1. David Cone 2. Curtis Granderson 3. Dwight Gooden 4. Darryl Strawberry 5. Carlos Beltran 6. Juan Soto 7. Rickey Henderson 8. Robin Ventura 9. Orlando Hernandez 10. Al Leiter
  21. Good guesses! No. 6 is too obvious. You're overthinking! 1. David Cone 2. Curtis Granderson 3. Dwight Gooden 4. Darryl Strawberry 5. Carlos Beltran 6. 7. Rickey Henderson 8. Robin Ventura 9. Orlando Hernandez 10. Al Leiter
