Stranding a lead off double! Nice!

    We got this!

I'm fine with the format. August and September would have sucked under the old format.

    Back tomorrow.

    Fudge.

Wow. I did not see this coming! Fun side note: The Tigers are managed by AJ Hinch -- who was at the helm during the Astros' cheating scandal.

I like the Tigers. The High-A team plays in my city and a number of these guys played here.

I reduced my cable to basic this summer since we never watched it. My wife streams everything and I use the MLB app to watch the Mets. Learning the downside of that today… But we have Roku and signed up for something called Sling to watch! Was worried there would be a big letdown after yesterday. Not the case!

We know the Reds fired manager David Bell in the last week. Giants have decided to move on from president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi. Franchise legend and part-owner Buster Posey has been named the club's new president of baseball operations, with Bob Melvin also expected to stay on as manager, per MLB. The Miami Marlins and manager Skip Schumaker are parting ways, per the Palm Beach Post. He will get a new job for sure. “After several constructive conversations with Skip, Peter, and ownership, we have mutually agreed to part ways, and Skip will not be returning to manage the club next year. The Marlins will immediately begin the process of searching for the next leader to serve as our new field manager,” said Bruce Sherman, Marlins Chairman and Principal Owner, in a prepared statement Who is next? The Cardinals manager has to be a candidate.

=ashie62 post_id=172829 time=1727726668 user_id=90] Diaz is likely very calm now
  13. Marshmallowmilkshake
    Diaz is back?
  14. Marshmallowmilkshake
OMG. I was all pissed off and paused to deal with a co-worker -- who picked a bad time to be an idiot -- and then jumped back in and saw the score!

    Gut punched.
  16. Marshmallowmilkshake
Letting this one slip away would be the ultimate gut punch. Nail it down!

    NIMMO!!!!!!!

    Glorious!

    Bummer.

Megill just needs to settle down a little. We can get two runs back.

My 2 p.m. work meeting just got canceled. This is a good thing. I was trying to think of ways to keep looking at the score on my Apple watch and not get caught.

So Marte comes off the bench if needed?
  25. Marshmallowmilkshake
Wearing my lucky Mr. Met socks and a baseball tie to work today. OK, assuming Megill goes in game one. If we win that, we rest Severino for the playoffs and throw someone like Ottavino to start a bullpen game for the second game? Assuming the Braves will do the same with Sale if they win the opener.
