Kevin Elster was a notorious womanizer. Don't know i he was married, but if he was that would make him unfaithful. Oh the real Elster. Yeah he got (gets?) a lot of ass. Edit: And this post heads the page. Beautiful.

Me neither metsmarathon wrote: i want to go to a playoff game, and im not sure if i dont still have to pay for the ticket even if there's no game. I'm in the same boat, but they say your credit card will be refunded if there is no Game 5. Anything else is probably illegal. metsmarathon wrote: but i don't think i would want the stress that a 5th game in the NLDS would induce... Right now (this may change) I'm thinking that I only want a Game 5 only if it's a guaranteed Met win.
  3. I shoulda said American League.

I will be rooting for a mauling of Mike Mussina (try saying that 5 times fast) Wednesday night My quote had nothing to do with the Yankees. My point was that a huh-yuge number of the 55,000 with be bandwagoners and/or little rich pricks who are doing the trendy thing by going to the ball game.

  7. Please move to the baseball forum.
  8. That's what my information is.

    Robby

I'm not sure why he had to remind the world of his stats though.
  10. Who was the last pitcher to win the pitching Triple Crown (wins, K's, ERA)? Santana this year tied with Wang in wins with 19 and led the other two.
  11. Just off the top of my head. Beltran 10 Reyes 9 Wright 8 Delgado 7 Glavine 6 Wagner 5 Heilman 4 Bradford 3 Trachsel 2 Martinez 1
  12. Fine. But that's not even remotely close to what your other post said.
  13. Didn't feel like starting a new thread. David Wright on the FAN at 4 today.
  14. ="cooby"]I don't give a crap that McGwire waffled on the spot Val, I very rarely disagree with you on issues, but I do on this. McGwire is getting away with it all and Bonds is taking the brunt of the heat. Two reasons: 1) Still playing. 2) Holds the records. Sosa is also getting away with it all.

    Robby

Nice post. Did he really go by Robby?
  17. Darn, I missed this game.
  18. Here we go. Time to wrap this thing up. I have no idea how to score this. What I plan to do is give one point for every time someone predicted correctly. If more than one person gets it, they both/all get one point. If no one guesses exactly, whoever is closest gets a point. (Again if there is a tie, both/all people get a point.) If anyone has a better scoring system, let me know. I'll post the results by mid-afternoon. Admins, could we pop this in the baseball forum one last time, until it disappears to the back pages again? Edit: Also, if more than one player tie in a category, you get full credit if you match either/any. Edit2: I'm also not sure how to break up starters vs. non-starters. I'm thinking 10 starts or more? Anyone disagree, let me know. (For BA and SLG, etc., a hitter needs over 500 ABs) Also, 60 IP needed to qualify for ERA highs and lows.

ScarletKnight41 wrote: This demonstrates why the MFYs are hatable - ]As the celebration slowed, reliever Kyle Farnsworth took note of the fact that the Red Sox would occupy the same sodden room tomorrow. "The best thing is Boston has to come in here next,'' he said. "It's the smell of victory they've got to smell. You can print that.'' After backing into the championship, their reaction is to rub their opponents' noses in it. OTOH, I don't recall any analogous statements from the Mets in the wake of their clincher. That was a night of good will, period. Sorry, but the idea that this shows "Yankee evil" or some such nonsense is ridiculous. Busting balls is part of the game. ____________________ And, of course, the comments of one player shouldn't reflect on the organization as a whole.
  20. ]person familiar to the situation The visiting bullpen janitor, most likely.
  21. TransMonk wrote: but as it went, Pedro had very little to do with the Mets on the field success in 2006. I think this is pushing it quite a bit. A lot of what made this year so great was the great start we got off to...and Pedro won 5 in April.
  22. I still think we're the favorite to win the NL.
  23. Of course if the Mets had their heads on straight they never would've given up Ty Wigginton for Benson. I hope I don't need to post my SC that accompanies this statement.
  24. Yancy Street Gang wrote: No, me neither. He's our guy. Who woulda thunk it? Not me.
  25. Got NLDS Game 5 (Game 3 at Shea) tickets. Not bad...middle of section 8 in the upper deck. I almost kind of hope it doesn't go to game 5, but it would be great to be at a deciding game like that. I got my NLCS rejection letter today.
