  1. I don't understand why people cup their hands over their mouths when chanting in a large arena with 55000 other people.
  2. Look I hate the fact that Yankee fans are always going down on him as much as anyone....but the guy is fucking 5-5 tonight. That's impressive.
  3. Is Rivera injured or something?
  4. The good news is that Farnsworth's numbers are atrocious on the second day when he pitches two in a row.
  5. That's a funny sound, or combinations of sounds: The crowd pumped up for a strike 3, thinking they got one but the ump fakes them out by not signaling right away (an aborted roar followed by a groan), and then seeing the signal (the roar). PS: How many L's in signaling?
  6. Vito Spatafore in the crowd.
  7. Johnny Dickshot wrote: We're still his only win of the year. I thought he'd be a "2nd/3rd time through the lineup" victim, but the Mets were flat that night too. Wright made a bad error in the top of the first and Reyes got caught stealing 3rd in the bottom of the 1st and that was that. Didn't Maine also get lit up that day? I might be remembering incorrectly.

Edits 1 and 2: FOX still saying that no decision has been made...and I heard on the radio that the Mets won't announce until tomorrow....rendering the post about "Kennedy" a pile of shit. Which I shouldn't have to reason out, shoulda known because cj posted it.

This makes me feel better too, and I hate to pee on the parade and on people's hopes.....but a lot of that is the coincidence of the Mets averaging about 25 runs in Traxxx's wins. IIRC, that is.
  10. JAY FUCKING PAYTON BABY!!!!!
  11. I made a snarky remark about Torre going to the pen too early, and removed it. Looks like I may have been right.
  12. vtmet wrote: ="OlerudOwned"]John Maine has balls. John Maine is unstoppable. Unsinkable. He will lead us to the promised land. Maine's main problem has been the HR ball, however: the Dodgers don't hit alot of HRs (26th in MLB in HRs this season) & Shea/Dodger Stadium are not great parks for HR hitters... so hopefully, he'll be fine... That's what I thought before the Maine/Kuo game. And then we got murdered.
  13. What's the name of that song?
  14. Did anyone see if Torre cried when they clinched?
  15. Johnny Dickshot wrote: Just score it, and we'll bitch afterward, It's the American Way. In this case, I'd rather go with my original way of scoring it, since I already did the counting.
  16. vtmet wrote: I refuse to believe that our pitching is that much worse than the Dodgers I don't want to believe it either. But it's probably true. The starting pitching at least.
  17. Anyone else feel like suggesting something? Anyone else care?
  18. You can still call me Gambini.
  19. Not sure what you mean marathon. So if I were to use 3-2-1, does that mean if you get it right you get 3, if more than one person get it right they get 2 each, and if no one gets it right the closest person(s) get 1? Or the top 3 closest get 3, 2, and 1 respectively?
  20. Eh. I'll remove this. Miami's calf is pissing me off.
  21. Money's money. I liked Vitamin Water before I saw his billboard. Now I like it even more.

  23. ]When the questions continued, Orlando Hernandez waved them away in an effort to protect the rookie outfielder. This says it all.

  25. KC wrote: Wagner did nothing for me for the regular season. His numbers were better than any other reliever though, so I ranked him higher than any reliever. I'd argue he was more valuable than any non-Glavine starter. ]For the contract, non-playoff appearances that are not automatic like every time ... yawn. We can give Wagner props come end of playoffs ... or call for tar and feathering. If contract comes into it, then Beltran should be behind Reyes and Wright.
