  1. My Spanish isn't great, but I think that means Little Mouth.
  2. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: They're under the impression Phil Humber is a fair exchange. Heh.
  3. I actually don't think this is all that ridiculous. Feliz probably should have won, but he can't hit his way out of a paper bag and Wright's definitely not the first player to get bonus GG points with his bat. David does a lot of things very, very well at 3rd. It's easy to get down on a guy when you watch him every day and his excellence underscores his failures (I hesitate to compare Wright to Benitez, but you get the idea). His range is really good, he reacts quickly, he catches what he gets his glove on, and he excels at charging bunts. Of his 21 errors (in 200 more innings at the position than Feliz played), 11 were throwing errors--that's ridiculously good glovework at 3rd.
  4. If I'm picking just one of those guys to add to the Mets' current roster, I probably go with King Felix, too. Can't say I'd turn my nose up at Kazmir (ouch), Shields, Verlander or Sabathia, though.
  5. The lie: This article (http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7400932) claims--among other things--that "The Giants have even let it be known that Tim Lincecum, their No. 1 pick in 2006, can be had for a quality bat." Clearly, this sportswriter needs to spend less time in opium dens. The idea that the Giants might be that stupid does appeal to me, though, and what is the offseason for if not for whiling away the dark months with daydreams of stuff that probably won't happen? So: just how quality a bat are we talking here, and who do you give them? The fever dream: Milledge. Straight up. Does it sound better if I point out that their outfield sucks? Randy Winn is tops on the depth chart for Right Field AND Left Field. No, you say? Would they pop for potential and salary relief if you packaged Milledge with a young pitcher for Lincecum and Zito's contract?
  6. I'm not even sure what I have yet. And I was at the draft! Riverdale drafted the guy I was planning to pick next 4 times this draft. 4 TIMES!
  7. Congrats smg! And Vic, too. That was a close and exciting pennant race.
  8. I blew out a tire on the Newburgh-Beacon bridge last month and thought I was going to die.
  9. "No, I'm not frowing this bloke the easy; 'e owns it. 'it the last one frew 'him a coke." "Excuse me?" "Am I talking to myself 'ere? You fink I'm 'avin' a Thomas? I put the last easy right on the Frank and 'e 'it it to the looney. No, I'm frowing moss or nuffing." *stunned silence*
  10. I was wondering about that...
  11. Did you try ice?
  12. or am I nuts for not just dropping him? Obviously, I missed the draft and ended up with an auto-draft team. Not a terrible team, all things considered, but I can't seem to make a decision about Clemens. Anyone?
  13. If this guy ends up with the Mets, I have a great idea for a song...
  14. Chan Ho Park, naturally.
  15. Actually, dude was on my fantasy team last season and he was pretty good for a good chunk of the year. Of course, that could be one of those indications of why fantasy sports do not reflect reality, but I'm just sayin'.
  16. Sounds good to me.
  17. I've never done a weekly league before; I'm a little worried I'd miss the day(s) and be stuck for a week. Why not just pre-set your lineups for a week in the daily league? I like abogdan's suggestion about a weekly waiver for add/drops as a sort of middle ground between weekly and daily leagues. I'm for the innings cap. I wasn't as savvy about adding and dropping as some of the others, but I definitely carried extra pitchers instead of bench players for a leg up in the counting stats.

Do you have to be an asshole to be a major league superstar? Maybe it's like President or Senator, you know: you just have to be a certain kind of self-obsessed douchebag asshole even to have a chance.
  22. MFS makes a good point, though.
  23. I went with the cats. Because fuck the Cardinals. I'm sick of hearing the "NL is just AAAA baseball" shit, too, but fuck the Cardinals.
