  3. Ceetar wrote: "Go to the minors. Work on building your arm strength. We love our pitching coach down there, he'll help you. We'll see you in three weeks, work on your first pitch strikes." Or something along those lines. If it went any other way I would be more than surprised Ceet. Might even be mortified. Inquiring minds need to know. Just the facts, mam.
  4. Do we go get him and shove him into a room with Peterson?

  6. I feel for ya MGIM. Now get that kool looking Mets T-shirt in here pronto! *snap*snap Hey, been visiting your Met blog (ran into it looking for Met images for kaboomyrootin things) and it is very enjoyable. Especially that cake. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, metcake. I see whoever made the one above ripped you off. Or maybe you ripped them off. Who cares, lol. Cool cakes. Thats gonna be my new phrase. Kool beans: deleted. Cool cakes man
  7. I remember when Dontrelle was at the top of my wish list for the Mets. And in fantasy baseball? OMG, complete games out the ass (that must have been painful). Wonder if the amount of complete games was a factor..... I won't believe this cause I think pitchers are way to pampered in their work these days. I think all players are. If you can show me incontrovertible proof that his complete game tally was a factor, this will change my entire attitude towards all of what I consider pamperiness these days. I loved this guy. Not only what he could do, but how he went about doing it. Reminded me of Willie Mays in the sense that his joy of the game was written all over his face.
  8. As silly as this might sound I think it is a reflection of what they see in video games. That is to say, because of what they see, they think its appropriate for any and every walkoff. And I'm sure they realize how the crowd loves to see it, that certainly is a factor (maybe more so, but anyone who plays baseball vid games has to see where I am coming from). We also love seeing a player hit four homers in a game and pitchers throwing no-hitters. They should step up and do these things waaaaay more often.
  9. Thought this was a poll and was eager to vote.
  10. Nieve.. 46 pitches in the 1st inning. Lasts two. 5 runs. Perez.. Couldn't get any more rested than him. 2 innings. 3 runs. Maybe Jerry will get all Rumsfeldian in the post show. That would be funny. And I [u:22ewgdhz]WILL[/u:22ewgdhz] laugh. I need to laugh...
  11. If you want anything done...etc
  12. Bay Ks to end the Mets 8th. I still got that feeling. Its intermingled with this other sick feeling I've developed over the last few innings. Which shall win out?
  13. Rockin' Doc wrote: As Frayed Knot stated in the OOTS thread, Morales suffered a fracture to his lower leg. He is scheduled to have surgery tomorrow. That's as wacky as tonights game. I've thought for the longest time that these displays are not sincere, just guys going thru the motions. I don't think they should be MUST DO events for walkoffs. Depends on the game.
  14. Good time to mail it in Jose.
  15. K. Top of the order LETS
  16. Ha, I should have read the OOTS 1st.
  17. Excerpt from article Morales hits walk-off grand slam in 10th, hurts ankle in celebration ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Kendry Morales took a leap toward home plate and all of a sudden, a jubilant trip around the bases turned into a deflating trip to the hospital. Morales hit a game-ending grand slam in the 10th inning Saturday, but twisted his ankle celebrating at home plate and got carted off the field after the Los Angeles Angels beat Seattle 5-1. Morales landed awkwardly and twisted his left ankle. The severity of the injury was still to be determined. "It'll change the way we celebrate," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. "It sure was exciting, but you always wonder if it's an accident waiting to happen. This is definitely unfortunate. We've just got to wait and see what we're dealing with. We'll know more information as the night moves on." "It's definitely not the mood we would expect in the clubhouse after a win, but when something like that happens, it's definitely disturbing," he said. "These guys all feel bad about what happened, but you've got to pick up the pieces and get ready to play tomorrow. It's a lesson for all of us." A smiling Morales threw down his helmet a few steps from the plate, took a hop and then jumped toward the plate as teammates began to pat him on the head. Morales quickly went down and grimaced as he rolled onto his back. He lay on the ground for at least 10 minutes and waved his arms to the cheering fans as he was driven away. "Anytime you have a walk-off hit, everybody celebrates at home plate," said starting pitcher Jered Weaver, who was icing his arm while watching the situation unfold on television. "It was just a fluke thing. You never want to see anything like that happen to a guy like that who's having a great start to the season -- or anybody for that matter. Hopefully it's not as serious as we think, but we're going to have to deal with it." advertisement "Obviously, we're going to have to change the way we go about celebrating something like that," he said. Players who hit game-winning home runs often toss off their batting helmets as they head home, hoping their teammates won't pat them too hard on the head during wild celebrations. Angels center fielder Torii Hunter left the game with a bruised left hand after getting hit by a pitch in the first inning. The three-time All-Star and nine-time Gold Glove recipient is batting .272 with seven homers and 29 RBI in 47 games. But his concern over Morales was his first priority. "I'm just worried about Kendry. He's one of our best hitters. To see a great moment go sour like that, it's pretty bad. Hopefully he's just got a sprained ankle or something small like that," Hunter said. "It's tough. You don't want to see him hurt like that. I was in here, checking out my X-rays and icing my wrist, but I was watching the game and screaming after the home run. But the screams just went to silence. I've never seen that in baseball, and that might be cut out in this organization."
  18. 6-8 them after 6 1/2. I still got that feeling. Maybe I'm having a flashback
