  1. Damn. Both I and Nieve wanted Nieve to do so well tonight. I read that article in the Post I like how we got that run in the 1st. Back to basics again. But a 2 out granny.....*shakes head
  2. It's my theory that the Mets are suffering roadinitis due to the large number of games they played at home in April. That is my theory, and that is what it is.. ..and it is MINE. I do believe these things will balance out. Hopefully starting tonight.
  3. I'm sticking with one So am I! unintentionally Maybe you should make it RHP's for us brain impaired.
  4. A pitching performance like this, on the road, vs a team like the Brewers that suck at home... *Warren lowers and shakes his head, closes the browser
  5. That was still pretty amazing, this lil scoreless streak. I'll also question the wisdom of pulling Santana but that's easy in retrospect. I wanna know what Santana has to say in post (if anyone can pass that on) Jerry too, I guess.
  6. I'd have to look at Parker's numbers but I'm doin my so I won't. He was a formidable opponent ....and, oh, what an arm.
  7. This was easier than I would have figured, because I already decided the Phils would no longer get any of my votes, esp if there was a worthy Met up there. Abreu was a very consistant player. Clemente and the Strawman.
  8. This was tougher than I expected. But I see Dawson is not on the right field list so he gets my nod here. And Andruw Jones gets it over Beltran I'm afraid. At this point I can't do any projecting for Carlos.
  9. Thought this list would be phatter. Lou Brock, Billy Williams. This is without research but I'm making all my selections w/o any. I shoot from the hip baby.
  10. Jeeze, since we're all coming clean Mex and Howard. Where is the mystery in the world anymore? Had to go with Howard on a projection basis, with all that he has done, which is pretty incredible. (no, I won't knock on wood...he's not a Met. Cripes, he's a Phil! Be a shame if he fell under a bus but I won't lose any sleep) And I have seen his fielding improve dramatically over the last few years.

That's an interesting thought but right in Citi Field is as treacherous as any centerfield anywhere. Meh, maybe that's an overly dramatic way to put it. Might save him some wear and tear, I think that is something to think about.
  12. This is from my local newspaper. The head line was: PHILS LEAVE NEW YORK WITH NOTHING Won't bore you with it all but I got a laugh from this: Jose Reyes, fresh from giving batting tips to the newly crowned Miss USA, was pretty at the plate.... Wonder if Reyes was playing to impress last night. *Q Todd's "We Gotta Get You A Woman"
  13. I'm one of the Rollins votes. Ya gotta pick Ozzie and Rollins MVP gives him the edge over Reyes. It was very painful to give him my vote. But if I'm anything, I'm honest.
  14. Last time the Mets shutout any team three times in a row? The Phillies in 1969. (from Phils TH's)

  16. OH, what a pitch!!!!!!!!! I think the ump was fooled too and he just went with the fact that the Mets were leaving the field. It looked like that wrapped around the plate.
  17. The bastard walks Ike. Time to shine Mr. Wright
