  1. 10 runs, 7th inning stretch, just after 9pm. Amazin'.
  2. Edgy MD wrote: Can't bunt your pitcher with a seven-run lead? Silly unwritten rule #14. I don't buy none of that unwritten rule shit. Maybe if your up by 12 runs but even then. Why would a professional team not play to win? Any game, anytime. But especially if you are in a close division. 10-1. Even outs are scoring runs. This is sooooo nice to see.

  4. Got a text from one of my brothers. He's at the game. He took this shot before the game: He's thrilled cause they always lose when he goes. I told him shhhhh, games not over yet.

  6. CYoung with his 2nd KaBOOM on a nice curveball that he waited on. WOW. He is performing. I didn't expect this. I'm not sold yet. Last time he was back up against the wall he popped one and then went back to sleep. Stay awake CYoung!
  7. Edgy MD wrote: That's it! Colon's on board! One hit per Met! Amazin'
  8. Whew, Mr Lane is wide on that corner. Grandout to first gets Murphy in. Nice. 4-1. That's good baseball folks.
  9. OHHHH, great recovery after a horrendous route by EYoung. If he missed that...oy.
  10. Some HUGE cuts from Travis. Going for the 3-fer. He Ks, but I like those cuts there. I really hope he can at least bring a portion of what he was doing in Vegas back up here.
  11. Edgy MD wrote: How about having to hear Terry have to tell the ump the ground rules? I found that strangely interesting. I always thought the umps always told the managers what the ground rules were. Like they'd study them before and go over them. If they don't do that, what the hell does an ump really have to do these days? SOUP 4 TWO!
  12. And EYoungs gets picked off for out #3. This inning was played bassakwards.
  13. Zvon wrote: EYoung reaches to lead it off. Nice line single. That's a run right there, right? The odds drop drastically as Muffy wiffs. OH, nice catch-and Wright pops out.

  15. Welcome back Mr. Conti. Oh, CYoungs playing center. Great. 1-0 A's

Edgy MD wrote: I don't know about you, but if my employee got word that he was going to be fired on Thursday, and I know he knows, but I'm saying nothing to him one way or another, asking him to come to meetings and help pitch a proposal to my big clients and shit on Tuesday and Wednesday... well, that would look like an awkward and counterproductive couple of days at work. In any regular business that isn't under the scrutiny of the media I'd agree. In baseball..the writers sometimes just start pushing buttons to get a reaction. Baseball players have to be able to tune out the media to an extent. This would be one of those times for Chris. Put the blinders on. Only one thing will save him. Performing. How much more time will they give him? We'll see. I've seen enough, myself. Edgy MD wrote: Sandy (and Terry) got put in a bad spot if there's anything to this leak, and if the leak was indeed planned and initiated by him, that's a lousy way to play. I would like to think the leak is some squirrely guy giving away secrets for who knows what reason, but the leak thing has just become such a regular feature I would not be surprised if it's an orchestrated thing.
  17. Edgy MD wrote: Easier? No way! It totally subverts your plans. If it's true, and you've got to release him before tomorrow's game. Can't have a guy everyone knows is doomed hanging out, and sure can't stick him in the game. If it's not true, you've got to issue an explicit denial, and some sort of endorsement --- when you'd rather have your options open and not be forced to endorse a player who is playing his way over the horizon. Either way, your hand is forced. Not if the leak is part of the plan. If that's the case, yes, he will be gone before tomorrow nights game, one way or the other. If the leak is not part of the plan & it's true, same thing. CYoung will be prepared to be released tomorrow. If it's not true Sandy doesn't really have to say anything. He owed CYoung some at-bats, and he gave him plenty. That was his endorsment and it's all used up. In this case I'd respect him more if he didn't respond to shit stirrin' stuff like this. Until a move is made I don't put any weight in articles that are "in the know" but don't let me know where they got their information from. It's just too easy for writers to write to soft spots that they know will cause (or feed) a flurry in the fan base. I think Sandy should cut him if that's his plan, and just ignore it if it isn't. No matter what the truth is in the CYoung situation, he's got to know that he has been given a fair chance and he didn't rise to the occasion. That's the only endorsement he should give him at this time and I'd rather he just kept quiet.
  18. Great job. Thank you. A 2 game series. Kinda silly for interleague IMO.
  19. Edgy MD wrote: If there's any truth to this, it really sucks for Sandy that the plans leaked. I think a leak makes it easier for Sandy. CYoungs probably already packed.
  20. EYoung: 2 Wright: 1 Teagarden: .5 Flores: .5 Colon: 5.5 Eveland: .5

  22. Books. Very nice win.
