These Royals are freakin' stunning. If you were watching earlier, one of the talking heads on TV did use the word "stunning". I chuckled.

  3. Damn kid...I'd have jumped right in that fountain for a Trout POSTSEASON homer.
  4. Trout is out and about. 1-0 Laa's

It's just for fun, a revival of something from the 1970's. Or... you can think of it as a cumulative stat. Colon led the team in Schaefer points, just like he did in innings pitched. Sure, deGrom had a better year, but you wouldn't give him the Innings Pitched title, would you? Kinda harsh Bats. This is done for fun. And make-believe beer. IMO Colon does deserve it. He was here to anchor the staff, win hopefully half his games, and put those innings in his belly. He did all that plus led the team in wins. I agree deGrom deserves more but Colon does not deserve less. And as said, if deGrom had made his last start he could have pulled a Goliath and won it. For a fun thing that rewards imaginary beer I think it's fairly reflective of those players seasons. And Duda had to work for that end burst he made for himself. I bet this is as reflectively accurate as the actual contest was back in the day, maybe more so.
  6. Nope. Tigers suck. Birds fly.
  7. Tigers are trying not to suck in the 9th. They score one. 2-1 OrangeBirds

  9. Ha! Tigers suck. 0-0 Baltimore
  10. Things are getting interesting. Wacky play at 2nd on a pickoff. Never saw a pick-off like that before. The Tiger guy was seriously blocked off the bag, which I think is legal. Challenged and stands. 2nd & 3rd, 2 out, Tigers trying to get on the board...
  11. Nevermind.. It's back. Cripes, that was out for over 10 minutes. 0-0 in the 3rd. I'm fortunate that baseball can make time stand still.
  12. TBS has gone out on me. Anyone else lose the game?
  13. Balt/Det: 0-0 mid second. I'm really trying to get into these games. But aside from The Royal Surge, all else pales.

These are great. I didn't have the BOTW play on my list * slaps forehead (or The Beatles stage or sign-man, two must haves) Also on my list: Spot in the infield where Pratt picked up Ventura (as opposed to spot where the ball went out of the park) batmagadanleadoff wrote: It's been done. When I get home, I'll post the image. (But it doesn't cover Shea's entire history. ) We'll have to decide if it's worth updating. I'm doing a diagram worthy graphic drawing of Shea- if we don't use it here I'll find another use for it.
  15. Uh-oh. I smell wood burning. That can only mean one thing. I have an idea, or the house is on fire again...TWO things! For a possible off season project: has anyone ever done up Shea Stadium ala Gene Mack? I've always been a huge fan of Macks stadium drawings. If no one has and I attempt to make one, what would be the details I should illustrate? Some are kinda obvious but I bet some of you guyz will come up with some lil golden nuggets of Shea history to include.
  16. No ones going to say anything about Kasem being an Angel?
  17. Excellent. As always, thanks for doing this Grimm. And for laying out all the '14 cards at once. Colon IA: priceless
  18. If the Royals sweep the Angels I will consider the achievement to be pretty stunning.
  19. Wow. Never heard of any of this. Very kool. Imagine if that card did get released as Tom's '68t! Or if it did and was pulled after they realized it, making it wacky AND rare.

  21. eX2ktVn5b-c That's Casey Kasem, RIP. Jim McAndrew- he shouldn't have posed as himself. That's was a dead give-away.
  22. Frayed Knot wrote: Those rectangular POSTSEASON logos that are on the units, the hats, the field, and just about everywhere else this week, aren't getting' it done. For starters, the word POSTSEASON is too dorky to build a slogan around. And then logo itself is just plain and boring. Agreed. I'll start with rectangle? and stop right there. 17th inning? 1-1!? Some good games this post.
  23. Gotta feel for Dodger fans after last night. A big lead with Kershaw on the mound. Ouch.
  24. Orioles win. Impressive comeback.
  25. Whats more embarrassing for the Oriole leftfielder. The bobble, or the shot of him picking his nose and wiping it on his uniform?
