  1. I liked the 1974 DUSTER commercial, particularly.

  3. WOWZERS! I was looking all over for this a while back. It must have gone up recently. First thing I want to see is Seaver's double. I hope more 73 playoff games pop up. Full game telecasts of the NY games are as rare as they come (post 1970). As I've mentioned before, I've been looking for them for years. They've been erased from history. But I thought this one was lost too, so there's hope. I watched this game in Whitestone at my cousins house in '73. Alls I remember is how Seaver looked after the Bench walk off. This does not have footage of the very end of the game. Bummer. But it has the audio for the end. Still, excellent find.
  4. I hope this isn't our biggest off season move. Like T-monk said, unnecessary. Our unis were doing fine. It's some of the guys wearing em that should be redesigned.

Now pick up your eyes & go take an aspirin. Not including him was just me being lazy. Saved cutting out those frames. I did not think it would look so freaky & choppy. I'd like to try that with a much better quality copy of the play. Maybe I have it on a DVD somewhere and can make my own copy. If I do that I'll try it the other way. But frankly, right now, I'm sick of looking at it. Did you make these animated cards? Wow!!! Take some unlicensed minor leaguers and go to town! It's more fun playing with the big boys. And, as far as I know, these gif cards will be forced to live forever in the digital realm, never attaining 3-D reality status. I mean, how do you print a .gif? But these two do display some good leather. Describing a catch, that's one thing and always hard to do it justice. I love being able to just show em as well. I've been meaning to do a gif card of the BallOnTheWall play. Yikes, that'll be a lot of frames.

  8. This'll be up by tomorrow. Sneak peek. Was a bitch to make (400 frames had to be tweaked and cut), and I wish I did a better job with the cutting Fisk out part-but it was hard to make out. I think I better stay away from the cutout gifs. At least ones having that much come out of the border. I also get a lil cheap thrill from a good gifcard. It sucked that Topps didn't do individual games in the 76 set. IIRC they did a combo card. Fisk's homer gif or not would have to be a classic card. [fimg=444:2xpub567]https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-Tn1AMrcXAnc/VFLBHOXS9QI/AAAAAAAAVTs/sUwyBQD4ANU/s588/75mfcWS-FISKhr-z14.gif[/fimg:2xpub567] Shit. That looks kinda light in here (looked okay in animation shop). Should I darken that? The source video was pretty weak, from youtube. But I tried to lighten it and change the tint. Might have gone too far
  9. Still. Even Bench said Grote was a better catcher. He should have given Jerry one of his. Seriously though, Grote should have won at least one and it does amaze me that he didn't. Shame his next appearance for me will be an embarrassing one.

I'd like to say it looks good but aside from the FB page I don't hear much about the situation. If I'm gonna trash one I really should commend the other. Mr. Bill Hall has done a magnificent job organizing and pushing the Gil Into The Hall Drive. He seems like a great guy and he's put a lot of work into the cause. If Gil makes it into the hall this round, Mr. Hall deserves much of the credit. To be fair, I really wonder if all that is going to be a hindrance to Hodges' case. The whole point of the reconstituted, and set of rotating three distinct "era" groups, committee is to do away with the perceived rampant campaigning and cronyism that caused many of Frankie Frisch's teammates on the 1920s and 1930s Cardinals and Giants inducted in the 1960s and 1970s and Phil Rizzuto in 1994. Along with oddities like the alleged reason Rick Ferrell got inducted (the story was that an old GM or owner lobbied each member of the committee to give a then ailing Ferrell a sympathy vote) or the fact that Charlie Gehringer was such a Yankee hater that he never voted for a Yankee, ever. Granted you can make a case that stuff like the This Old Cub documentary, and the Cubs retiring #10 was part of a campaign ahead of Ron Santo's posthumous election in 2012, but for the most part, all three committees have been real air tight when it comes to players, to the point where Santo and Joe Gordon are the only post 1900 players to get in through this particular door. So it is conceivable that a social media movement for Hodges could be looked at as a negative by the voters. Almost like their hand is going to be forced, and they'll look no better than the one that they replaced. It's also probably the first time they had to deal with a campaign that was totally brought forth thru social media. The things you mention were perpetrated by people "inside" the game. This Gil Hodges thing is brought to the forefront by regular people like you and I. And that's the important thing for me. That fans of the man are still going to bat for him, even over 40 years after his passing. That should mean something to this committee. If the fb drive to get him in hurts his chances, something is really wrong.

  15. I got a kick out of this:
  16. Nice That can't hurt his odds.
  17. Great game. I was STUNNED when Gordons single was bumbled into a triple. STUNNED I TELLSYA! Gotta tip my hat to Bum. If I couldn't see the Royals win, at least I saw a great performance of GIANT proportions. Great series. Fman99 wrote: Good Lord, Joe Buck. Shut the fuck up. Why say ten words when you could say 50, repeated brainlessly, for 3.5 hours? Very much this^. If I could have I would have muted the TV.
  18. Gotta love those Royals. I didn't expect it to be that lopsided. There will be a game seven. All the marbles.
  19. Ventura went 7. 3 hits. Don't know how many pitches. I would have squeezed him for as much as possible and saved the pen for tomorrow. Frasor pitched a scoreless 8th.
  20. The Moose is loose. BOOM. 10-0, 7th. If SF don't crack that KC pen they are in trouble with a capitol T.

  22. Is baseball bragging because WS game ticket $$'s are out of control? 9-0. I guess a game 7 ticket will cost your first born.
  23. Royals are trying to give some back. But they fail. 7-0 after 2 and a half. Say this fast 7 times: Boche paniked when he pulled Peavy.
  24. Whoa. A high chopper to short that goes for a double. 6-0
  25. Frayed Knot wrote: Royals aren't exactly smacking the ball - but they're all dropping in. A lot of that in this series and I am enjoying it.
