He asked a question. You know how twitter ignorant I am. I'm always asking about it too. I have no clue.
  2. Thank you sir. That was a trip and a credit to Googles search engine. Seriously, Google is great at getting your tags circulated. It's the best part about using their blog format.
  3. The pic with the bird is begging to be colorized.
  4. This was how it looked a few years later.
  5. They gotta be on the other side of the wall there. There was mesh netting or something like that. I don't think there was plexiglass there. There was something. Maybe in invisible force field. Those benches are behind it.
  6. I love it when there's more, and then even more! But I can't get excited over Flores. I'd like to, but I can't yet. Two reasons. He could evolve into something special with ankle weight workouts.

I would love to think that the improvement is real, but nothing I see from Zach leads me to believe he will ever be more than just solid. His only plus pitch is his fastball, and even that is not "swing and miss" material. His command is inconsistent. He has too many baserunners, and his pitch count accumulates too fast. To me, he reminds me a lot of Pelfrey. I would love to be wrong here. And I don't pretend to be a scout by any means, but I wonder if we will look back on this offseason as a time when we could have sold high on Wheeler. Anyone who's put up with me during a Wheeler IGT knows I think his pitch count is an issue. He has to get past that in 2015. I say he will. I feel he turned the corner in the second half. I think he will be more comfortable and less plate shy. He will bloom in 2015.
  8. That looks like a comfy chair.
  9. I love it when there's more. It's real, cause he did it. Can he do it again, and sustain it for a longer period? We'll see, but I say yes. I think he excels with Harvey and deGrom on either side of him.
  10. Thanks guys I will post an actual size version if you wish, but I'd have to watermark it. I hat doing that. Merry Christmas!!! (I'm doing all my shopping tonight >< )
  11. The original is 4 times this size, So you can read the text. The Stork bubble is just a test and might not end up in that spot. V.2 Final version. This does not have the error corrections that I have been working on, nor the additional info that I've gotten from the fb Shea page(the lists have to be updated). But basically the finished poster will look like this, only giant sized and eligible. A lot of changes to the original concept. No info bubbles like the Gene Mack works. I kinda threw the Gene Mack tribute angle out the window as the area surrounding Shea grew and filled in. Scraped the cartoon look for actual photos depicting the Shea moments. Still, very much influenced by Mack. It's very busy (some might prefer version 2), but I wanted to get everything in I could think of. I want to add a note about Strawman hitting the scoreboard (Mo's shot is in there) and a few other little additions. The image above is 1451x1041. The original is 3540x2540 and if I make prints I plan to make them the same size as the original (app. 4 x 3 ft.). That'll be one bigass poster of Shea If there's any interest I'll print and sell a limited amount. I know I want one for my wall, so I'm definitely printing up one at full size.

    Mazzillin'

  13. Like Ceets, I think if we go with Flores it's Mr. T for late D. Not that T has a great glove but he's better than Flores. Flores will be what he is. He won't suck. I consider the combination "serviceable". Yea, I did read the heavy feet stuff. I'm gonna have to change it to lead feets.
  14. Edgy MD wrote: The Mets have a good season but fail to get over the top because of an injury, I can live with that. Been there plenty. If it's an effective move, it's an effective move, whether the team is otherwise expected to win 100 games or 50. I can live with that too. We all could live w/it...we've all been Mets fans for 20-50 years. So we will persevere. I'm talking about getting asses in the seats. Selling tickets. Filling up Citi every weekend. But I suppose if we have a good season, that will follow. I'm almost sold. Depends on who is involved and I might be tempted to go above the Montero Line. But only for Gee, Colon, or Noah(being nice by including Gee & Colon in the talks).
  15. Edgy MD wrote: I know. Part of me feels like we're getting punked here. Oh, I think that's really an old lady. I sound like a 12 yr old on the phone.
  16. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: Honestly, I think Flores looks better to me as a supersub with OR without Tulo. But as far as short goes (if we got Tulo, which more than likely we are not going to) aren't we looking for a glove off the bench as a late inning replacement? I don't think of Flores when I think of that role. And that's not saying that Flores would have no role on this team. Just not that one.
  17. "It sounds real sexy..." lol. And Curtis is right, she sounds around 25 yrs old.
  18. The price isn't going up. The only way the Rockies get anything for Tulo other than a hole in their pocket is to give us a pile of money to take him. We presumably have the prospects they need: How many others do? That's something worth finding out. Bingo. IMO. I liked that article in one of the NY rags today about the Pads eating 29% of his contract, and how if the Rockies did the same we'd be paying Tulo around 15mill a season (82total), which is a great deal. I don't imagine they do that for Montero or down, so it could mean Noah or Wheeler. I'm very leery about that, cuz if we go into 'win now' mode, and Tulo gets hurt and we don't win, it'll be a devastating downer. A devastating downer as opposed to what? The last six seasons. To my expectations. My expectations for 2015 are pretty high w/o Tulo. With him, they go thru the roof. If the Mets get him, he's out for a month and the team tanks, that to me would be kinda devastating. Ed has a good point but it all depends on who will be on the bench when the season starts. If we did get Tulo, who would be his backup? Tejada or Flores?

  20. No. I have Noah as untouchable. Pitching wise, Montero is my big chip. d'Kong76 wrote: Took no, would rather have Reyes back. (with monetary concessions). Whether it worked or not, I'd love to see this^.
  21. Edgy MD wrote: What color should the drop-shadow be? Something dark, I would think. But Id test light as well. Whichever makes it stand out best. edit: btw, if you can do this with your program, see if you can make the drop shadow a little blurry through feathering (hopefully there's a feather measurement deal when you get a box open for the drop shadow)
  22. Edgy MD wrote: There's a reason he does design and I, um, don't. [fimg=400]https://metsinpeace.files.wordpress.com/2014/12/metsholiday.jpg[/fimg] Oh, well. I guess I can say that I gave it the Binghamton try. That's actually a great start Edge. If you are working in layers, throw a drop shadow on the layer with all the gold in it. That'll make it pop right up. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I tried something different I wanted to try to make it look like someone had painted the Mets logo on a snowball. I don't think it quite worked. That looks like a snowball to me. But...green!!??AAAAAAHHHHHH!

[fimg=300]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Sl-qUmuKvcg/VJEfYGZdAMI/AAAAAAAAWOg/IzqA6wlJPUo/s576/2014Xmas-001-cpf-z15.png[/fimg] The menorah is disproportionately large. A Festivus Pole would be fun, and maybe work in a little Kwanzaa somehow? Maybe he should throw in a lasagna in there too. Plus one of those roasted pigs with an apple in its mouth. It's too cluttered as it is. I'll re-work that any way you see fit.... That's the uncluttered version Bats. Ha. Of course I will unclutter it if that is desired. I tried getting it some parts of the tree come forward. This was posted on the cardBlogThing last night (no CPF on this). [fimg=300]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-RWax6sCALi4/VJE8JN0VWKI/AAAAAAAAWPM/9PbzIwbBLIk/s576/2014mfcHappyHolidays-z15.png[/fimg] Picasa did one of those auto things--not sure why or how this happens, but they take a few of your pics and make a .gif from them. It ends up in my Picasa album. They did this: [fimg=300]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-za0jMKkhqv8/VJE9raYoWLI/AAAAAAAAWPY/fIjckFfjnDY/s576/2014Xmas-001-z15-MOTION.gif[/fimg] Would be pretty kool if I didn't have the site logo and name on the outside. Don't listen to me. But if you did, and you hadda work with the Mets skyline logo, I'd ditch the xmas tree and menorah altogether. It's too busy with those elements and in the end, you can't see either one too clearly. I'd swap out the baseball seams for some holiday wreath. And maybe add some falling snow. Or frost. Or ice on the buildings. I dunno. The addition of a wreath is a great idea. Seams can go or stay, but I think a wreath around the entire border might look excellent. I did do a version with the skyline partially in it (it could be seen thru the tree but I didn't think it was working- but if it has to be in there, I'll find a way. Sure, the menorah & tree can go) Like I said, I'll scrap that whole design if that's not agreeable. It's up to you guys. I'll put anything in it you want. And there's certainly plenty of time to figure this out. I'm not sure if you want to print em or what but we got a late start and as suggested, we can aim for 2015 on this. By then maybe we'll be able to add a 'lil pennant to it (dare I say a WS trophy!!)
  24. I'll go with that and fix the background. Are the bells okay there? Actually, if I was designing a greetings card I don't think I'd make a logo lookin' thing like this. But I had nothing in mind and that old work handy (& hadn't done anything for Christmas-graphic or otherwise-totally not into it this year). I'm glad this came up cause its getting me in the spirit of things with a week left to do something about it.
  25. Wowzers. I love those crazy big trades.
