Conforto played it right, he looked at Cespedes and pulled off. Yoenis dhould not have looked at Conforto. It was his ball. What do I call that baseball card? The Ball On The Thigh Play? HE KICKS IT! I was just stunned. But one pitch, one run, no biggy. But jeeze, with these Mets, nothing's easy and nothing in the postseason is ever ordinary. And we came back and took a lead and allAdat and,...ugh. Familia. This would have been such an important slam. And kaBOOM! I was kinda like a zombie from then until the end. Because of fuckin Chris Young, who holds US in check? Our Chris Young. Grrrrrrr. Home plate ump Welke sucks. What I saw from was Niese was important. I have more confidence in him and he could step up. Didn't want or expect TC going with the 4 out save this early in the series. I spoke about with my brother during pregame and he agreed. What is up with Robles? Is he there? Anyways, I still thought Familia would do it until the ball flew off Gordon's bat. Ugh, that sinking feeling in your stomach. Luckily I had hot popcorn to fill it with. But that sucked. Young puts us in chains and they score on a freakin sac. GREAT throw by Grandy. Great, kinda extraordinary game. Close like they said it would be. Well, when we're at our best we always lose the first one and then sweep 4. But that opening...with the inside the park homer...I have never seen anything like that to start a series. I think they said it happened last in 1903. More historical stuff. For history to remain of it's proper path we must sweep the next four! LETS GO METS!

I think coming back from this is the biggest possible test a closer could ever have. We need him to do that. Again, TC, enough with the 4 out or more saves from Fammy on the front end of this series.

    Duda's gonna go on a tear. 7 HRs in 5 games!
  5. LESS THAN AN HOUR!!!

Then I can either remember it happily the rest of my life or shut it away with all the other disappointments. All I remember from 2000, for instance, is Clemens and the bat, and Benitez refusing to throw strikes to lefthanded batters. If this is really how you feel then why bother? Be a fan!! Enjoy it all!! the tension! The drama!! THIS is what its all about! Bask in it! Because the before and the after (hopefully) are where the fun is. The during is the hard part. Ya gotta live it D.J. For good or for bad, ya gotta live it. If it gets ugly, we'll be here for you. We'll be here for each other. But it won't. LETS GO METS!!!
  7. Had a problem unwinding last night, today I'm extremely excited.

    Uribe = in

    I like Uribe in. I also liked the Reynolds story, if he got to play in the series, but I'm all in on Uribe.

He was, pound for pound, one of the NL's best pitchers in 2011, but doesn't show up on most of that season's leaderboards because he pitched just 156 innings that season. He was Cy Young caliber in 2012 in a tight race that could have reasonably gone Cueto or Kershaw's way instead of R.A. Dickey's. He was even better in 2014. And he was lights out this year in the NL right up until the trade that landed him in KC. Not so hot in KC, but why? Injuries? Diminished stuff? Learning a new league? I think it's that Royal Blue. Cueto will be key for the Royals and I'm hoping he shits his pants on the mound for some Royal Doo.
  10. If I was Mr. Met I wouldn't trust this guy with my wife. Sluggerrr is literally a dickhead.
  11. The Royals blue is slightly more royal blue than the Mets blue. This pisses me off!!!!
  12. Mmmmm. So this is how internet rumours start...

I wouldn't know the Sadecki origin story because I never read that comic book. It's a #1 issue so I sealed my copy in a protective sleeve. There's an even rarer alternate #1 issue, but I've only seen pictures of the cover. I never even saw the alt issue on ebay. 15. Zvon wrote: I've been rotating jerseys. I all depends on if I eat during the game. If I ever stain the Seaver jersey I'll shoot myself. I have a white 1986 25th anniversary logo hat, which I wear every game. I have many Mets caps but that's the one. I have a bunch of Mets jackets (& a kool hoodie) but they're all beat up and old (most recent, black style circa 2002). I have one really excellent jacket that's so kool, like my Seaver jersey, I hardly ever wear it. It has the NY on the breast, Mets logo on one shoulder, 2000 World Series logo on the other. Blue and black. I might have to whip that out for game 5. And maybe switch to a team 2000WS cap. I can't find any images of that jacket or the 86logo hat on-line. I'll have to take a picture of em. I did switch to the 2000WS cap and that worked well. SWEEP! I just ordered my 2015 Mets World Series caps. Got 2, one authentic/blue/orange NY and one authentic/blue/white NY. Picked up one for my father as well, who finally might be actually becoming a Mets fan. He's a hockey & football guy but he's been watching most of these games with me. This is the jacket I was talking about above. I can't find another of this type anywhere. I got this on the AC boardwalk at Pier 1. There was this sporting goods store there and I'd stop in a few times a month and buy a Mets cap or something like that. The owner of the store got to know me as "The Mets Guy". Very nice man. One time I was looking at stuff and he comes up to me and says "I have just the jacket for you!", and he tells me he has to special order it and to come back in a week. I did and this jacket was waiting for me, and I almost creamed my jeans. lol, okay, not that extreme but I was like WOW, KOOL!. Absolutely love this jacket. And there's the 25th anninversary cap, white. I had a blue one that I bought at Shea in 1986 and that was, and still is, my favorite all time Mets cap. I wore that until it was a ragtop. I wanted to replace the blue one, never could, but did run into the white one, which is pretty kool too. And that's Angel, my brother's cutesy wootsie lil dawgee. Come here Angel. HEY WATCH THE JACKET! *raises leg. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  16. I normally want a long World Series, just cause that's extra baseball. But not this time. Just looking at that poll makes me nervous when I see game 6 & game 7. Just take it. Mets in 4. 5 is acceptable. Any more than that I'm gonna be a wreck.

  18. It's the bow tie that looks so alien to me. I didn't notice if he was wearing it tonight. Pete, you don't need a gimmick. Lose the bow tie. I like what I have seen of Rose in the studio. He seems to be a bit of a wild card in that he will say anything that comes to mind. Never thought I'd say this, but I find him refreshing.
  19. If you're waiting out the rain delay the Mets are on Jimmy Kimmel.
  20. Frayed Knot wrote: I rarely watch these pre/post game shows (or, in this case, mid-game show) but the one thing you take away from the FOX show ... just how Fucking HUGE Frank Thomas is. The rest of these guys look puny in comparison and Rose looks like a troll. I don't think I've ever seen Rose laughing before. Certainly not hysterically.

  22. If you're jonesin' for Mets baseball and have MLB.TV you can re-watch any of the playoff games through thier media center. Just use the calendar and click back to the game you want to view. I couldn't watch these live thru MLB.TV, and I'm thrilled that they let me watch the replays. They have become available to view about 3 or 4 hours after every game and still are.

Had just returned from a road trip to Philadelphia to watch the 3rd game of that series and see the Mets clinch there because there was 'no way' the Phillies were going to sweep them. It was a long drive back to school. I went to all three of those games with my brothers and some friends. I really thought I was going to be able to witness another Mets clinching party. I mean, there was no doubt in my mind they would win one. IIRC it was Von Hayes who dashed my dreams.
  24. Doesn't his childhood photo look like someone photoshopped his current day head onto his little boy shoulders?
