Id do it for nothing but an extra copy of each. zevon, no problem, i can do that for you..in fact its been a few times now, where someone send me there VHS masters (some movies, home movie,MLB,THE WHO) if you want to send just a few first, to be sure. id like to see what games you have in that bag. it would be nice to find some games i actually attended from 1986 (went to many games that year) help me with this, and ill do the same for you. thanks PS sea wolf...ELLIS VALENTINE (you have pictured) Had the best throwing arm i ever saw..i saw him nail a guy at third from a throw from right field corner against the wall..one hop..outta there! blew PARKERs throw from '79 ALL STAR GAME away! AM, Im just messin with ya. Im sure everyone here appreciates your offer to digitalize their Met video collection, for whatever reasons you offer these services. Dont take me too serious unless you see the words "Im serious'' or "seriously" in my post. I was just goin for a laugh there, albiet at your expense, and Im sorry. Im not the guy with the bag-0-video's tho, that is OlerudOwned. I would help you If I could. Personally I only have game three of the '69 World Series and game six of the '86 World Series on video tape. I wouldnt mind having more, but never got around to collecting them. Maybe someday I will. What I meant by my smart ass statement was that I have a video/DVD coverter, which I got specifically to transfer the family films (which were converted to video in the early 90's) to DVD. Hardly ever use the thing. I should transfer those two games, since i got em. So I thank you for the offer, but Im good. And stick around and talk Mets with us cuz the more Met fans, the merrier.

  5. This is a steal for the ChiSox and and I really respect players that dont just go with the money. Thome called Konerko 1st thing when he got to Chi. and asked him to please stay on. Told him he wasnt there to play 1st, but to DH. And that the team needed him back bad. Yea, the WhiteSox will field a fine team in 2006. I do hope Thome bounces back from his recent woes.

  8. Lol. No way. The Mets are the Mets. We are just once again becoming the better baseball team in New York City.(like the mid to late 80s) Will Wilpon and Omar spoil us? Maybe. But Ive been with this team through thick and thin (------alotta thin). ..........................spoil me!
  9. mlbaseballtalk wrote: Also, Zvon, any chance you have a shot of a young Jody McDonald from that era? In other words, Joe McDonald's family with him at any Met related function or something) since Jody loves to tell the story of how he was once approached by some kids who thought he (Jody) was Jesse Orosco! Steve Ill search my files, lol. Thank you Edge. I cant believe I mispelled the mans name in the credits. WhAtAnIdIoT! My brothers are gonna get a kick outta this. (of course im gonna tell them......cuz Im a F00L)
  10. When your at work you play by the rules of the ones who sign your paycheck. I dont care what Delgado thinks about the current conflict, and I dont care what any baseball player thinks of the state of the nation.

Look what BJ Ryan ended up getting......$47 million over 5 yrs. As far as Im concerned, this off seasons gonna end with the NY METS the best and most exciting baseball team in NYC. Are they payin Wags too much? For too long? Of course they are! Alls I know is he's now a Met. We have addressed 2 of our biggest questionmarks (1b & closr), and in style. If theres a down side Ill complain when we get there. And the Philllies were set to contact Wagner yesterday at 4pm to increase the money, but at 3:15 they received a call from Wags agent with his decision to go with the Mets. I LOVE IT!
  12. Thank you. Was it just the 1st mispelling in this thread with the 'e' or did I mispell it on the slide show credit list? Cause I feel foolish enough as it is. And thanks for being so kool.
  13. wow,...they are looking for certain recorded sporting events too. ]Super Bowl I (January 15, 1967) The first Super Bowl was recorded by two networks on videotape and subsequently erased. OUCH! http://www.mtr.org/

  15. So, just finished my EA MVP baseball season and Beltrans contract came up. He had just come off a 43HR/124RBI season. He asked for 4 years at 12 million a year. I gave it to him. His old contract was grandfathered in, because it was his actual deal with the Mets at 17 million a year. So Im saving 5 million bucks. Im in spring training, and I guess Im leaning towards keeping him now. Still could trade him, but he has been solid. Ill have to see how my budget looks a week before seasons start. Electronic Arts made a template available for download so you could make your own custom game cover. I made this, printed it out on glossy stock, and slipped it into the jacket on the game box. Looks like a store bought deal.

Seriously. I was only half serious assuming you might be David Whitman. If that is the case, then I do apologize and I will ask first. Am I spelling that wrong?, cause that would be rather embarrassing. I am a big fan of your work and used many of your photos in the set, because of their clarity. Lifted as many images as I could off the net in making the set, and the ones at your site were the best. PM me if youd rather not talk about this upfront. And if it is you, thank you for your wonderful work.
  17. G-Fafif wrote: You might want to check footage of YS after Chambliss's homer in '76 or the last out was made in the '77 Series. No horses, lots of horses' asses. lmao. I think they had horses beyond the fences out there, just it happened too fast for them to have any practical use. You may be correct tho. There were police horses at Shea that day, but I didnt see them until after the game. There were a scant handful on the field. I will check that footage next time it pops up.
  18. ScarletKnight41 wrote: Cool story Warewolf I'd lecture you about breaking the rules, but since D-Dad and I were on the field after the September 17, 1986 game, I really can't I think alot of rules were created as a result of that 73 series. You never saw a final playoff game in NY with police horses at the ready after that series.
  19. Ive been searching for years for a recording of the Mets 1973 playoff games. Especially the last game. When I got home my family said I was on TV. Ive never seen it myself (that last game probably will never be rebroadcast because of the near riot that occured,...very embarrasing for the city, the Mets, and the fans) but from what Ive been told you can see me near the end of the game, sitting on a stool in the corner of Reds dugout, talking to a cop. I believe its just a few seconds of footage, but long enough and clear enough that my folks and brothers all recognized me. The cop was telling me Id have to leave the dugout and go back into the stands where I belonged. I was telling him he was crazy if he thought I was going back in there. Long story short, I went back into the stands. Id love to see this footage, if anyone has access to it. I have nothing to trade, but Id certainly pay for a quality copy of those 3 games in NY, and especially the final game with me in it. I also plan on posting more details of my 1973 playoff memories/experience some boring night over the winter.
  20. Tike, lol. The NY Post will have a field day with this kids name, no matter what he does for us, good or bad.
  21. a 5th year option.....WOW! Omar really wanted to close this deal. I aint complaining. Ill take 1 year at a time, and this upcoming season should be fun to watch.
  22. YES!!!!!!!!!!!! Im glad I heard it here 1st. WAGS!..we got a bonifide closer!
  23. ="Iubitul"] Zvon - we have to talk aboout one of these cards... Yea,.....If its a complaint Im sure that its that I called Jesse a 'closer'. If your Mr Whitman, I love your photography. This set was given out for Xmas 2002 to friends and family only. I have never made a cent off it, nor do i ever plan to. It was a CD digital slide show, and it included these two notes:
  24. My list would be sooooo long. But when I played ball in the playground, the 1st player I ever emulated and made believe (in my mind) I was was Tommie Agee. But there have been so many thru the yrs. My list would contain at least 50 players, and I could probly go more.
  25. Guess its about time I took screen grabs of Wrights catches. Heres one, shrunk to half size.
