Yeah, not looking for him to be Piazza-1, but just 10 home runs is a big deal in how you're viewed by the opposing team. Pitcher's know that you can punish them, and outfielders don't find the need to play at Castillo-Depth.

Sandy certainly sounded like he wants to keep Beato.
  3. Edgy DC wrote: A brutal shellacking in which guys having poor springs at the start of the day had totally turned it around by the end. (David Wright going 4-4 with a homer has to help the ol' cahnfidence.) A great day unless your name is Mike Nickeas, who went 0-2 and saw his average drop to .081. Nickeas is pretty safe as the 8-day backup catcher right? Or could we see my pal Kai?
  4. Thole: Also a deep thinker. Cardinals announcers described that as leaving Port St. Lucie.
  5. You can't search Yahoo for names that i see. unless it's not yahoooooo.

  7. metirish wrote: The CPF and a league I set up last year with the purpose of getting a friend in to to league, ten of the twelve that participated last year are back which is super cool....it's head to head which I like. I opened up to sixteen teams this year, looking for a few more players in anyone is interested. I'd go to four (actually, 4 is Yahoo's limit before I have to go to my Ceetarsnose Yahoo account). Who doesn't need more fantasy baseball?
  8. Fman99 wrote: I'm doing the same 3 I did last year... 1. The CPF NL only 2. A head to head league, online, that ABNS brought me in on with some of his West coast homies 3. A 14 team money league ($65 entry) with keepers that I've run since 2002. First 14 rounds done via email, the last 14 done live online and in person at the Fman household... This one is my obsession... I've been meaning to step it up and get into a keeper/money/different type league this year, but I never remember to find one. I've got two other Yahoo leagues this year, one a recurring head-to-head one from..i think livejournal's baseball forum but I could be wrong on where it originated, and another via The Real Dirty Mets Blog peoples. I'm going to win all three.
  9. Oh, I thought that was the count for the inches of snow.

I didn't cutting out just the lineup. I know we were dying to know if Mookie took the trip.
  16. told the game is on ESPN, and also for free via MLB's facebook page or mlb.tv or something.

Interesting though, I'd almost consider trying to get Turner some more SS time and being a candidate to replace Hu (or Murph) as a more versatile utility guy. but this is all just temporary too, things change pretty fast when you don't, or do, perform.

  23. metirish wrote: blown all out of proportion sure......but geez Luis , get over there no? yeah. Once they were finalizing details of the deal probably would've been wise to get in the car and head over there. He probably thinks the jobs gonna be handed to him in Utley's absense.

And now he has the odasity to say that the Mets never gave him a chance this spring. Luis, you piece of shit. All you had to do is beat out four other guys with a total of 20 major league games under their combined belts at 2B. That's it. I was there in PSL on Tuesday when you fell asleep and never covered first on the 3-2-4 double play. And that's how I'll remember you, falling asleep; sleep walking through 365 games in the royal blue and orange. Have fun sniffing Utley's taint. damning to say the least.....saw a tweet about him showing up a day late for the phillies and that Manuel was pissed with him already.... That was presumably blown out of proportion, as all things are. Manuel just assumed that he'd showed up and wrote his name down without ever even seeing him. Sounds like they expected him to drive over Monday night, and he figured he'd stay with hisfamily or whereever he went after he was cut and leave Tuesday morning.
