It's all just creative accounting..

(linkedin) Is it uncouth to email this Eric R.( Upgrade for full name ) Director, Information Technology at New York Mets with my resume out of the blue? Go for it, Ceets. Worst they can do is say no. Or make you work for Jeff, whichever. I suppose the scary thing here is that the Mets don't appear to want to replace this guy, just give some people (uh, including Jeff, more responsibility). Like the scam site it is, LinkedIn wouldn't give me the guys full name (and hence allow me to infer his easy to guess email address) without upgrading. Suggested I knew someone that knew someone that knew him and could 'connect' me. Asked my aunt to bridge that connection, but the woman she knows that worked in the ticket office left a year or two ago. googled a bit, failed to reveal the "R" for Eric's last name and went on to more conventional job searches.
  3. no Dodgers on that list either. I think they're confused.
  4. https://sports.bovada.lv/sports-betting/mlb-baseball-team-props.jsp This is the site I use anyway. Mets 74.5 Marlins 63.5 Jays 88.5 Astros 59.5 ouch. 40:1 for Ike to win the HR title. 25:1 for Wright and MVP 33:1 for Santana and the Cy Young 50:1 for Niese
  5. I crack myself up sometimes. Free David Wright Android App! Click from mobile..
  6. we haven't actually heard Mets prices this year yet right? (Not that I'm expected a drop) seemingly no Citi Field food preview either. I never remember what anything costs year to year, but I do plan on wandering around on Monday looking at the prices/items.

I'm not sure the Internet can tolerate that sort of perspective. Based on first-hand observation and interaction plus the input of those who might know more intimately, his heart was sometimes in the right place. Take that as you will. I could agree with that. He also seems to ooze "Salesman"
  9. My brother's applying to college soon. I should make him watch all of these first.
  10. Edgy MD wrote: Good one. There was sorta a romantic angle in that, wasn't there? in Orange County? I think so. I think they burned down an admissions building too.
  11. TransMonk wrote: Yikes! This was pretty bad. Apatow's wife plays a pretty mean witch. A fake couple fighting for 2-plus hours. Did they really expect anyone to find this flick endearing...even with the cheap joke/gags? Paul Rudd is a guy I want to like...but I'm going to have to see more from him. I feel like he could make better choices now that he has a resume. Step out of you comfort zone, Paul. agree about the comfort zone, although I do like Paul Rudd and I laughed enough at this movie to enjoy it. It wasn't good or anything, but zany and funny enough. Holy Lost spoilers though. I probably should watch the last episode already..
  12. Orange County?
  13. not just the Knicks as i understand it, the entire MSG.
  14. What's his title, media relations right? seems like the media likes him, so I presume that means he does his job well?
  15. 86-76, third place, no playoffs.
  16. yawned through this one last night. My biggest take away was that Julliannae Hough looks a lot like Kaley Cuoco.

It's more gracious than most. Steve and I --- the only people posting today. Because everybody else sees snow days as kid/grandkid opportunities. I'm just being lazy and zoning out playing Tetris and watching TV. but now I'm going to go the gym. I'm a little tired of the non-baseball baseball stories anyway. Baseball's so close I can smell it.
  18. I never managed to get to the theater to see it, but I got a prerelease copy of it (comes out 4/2) and just watched it. Quite enjoyable. Mostly following Wakefield and Dickey, but with plenty of Hough and Niekro as well. Filmed during 2011 so it really ends up being a preview for Dickey's Cy Young. Lots of video of slow motion knucklers which is terrific, and lots of just four knuckleballers nerding out over the pitch sitting around a living room. Good stuff. (Did you know Phil Niekro homered off of Hough?) I could've done without that one pitch, the last one, of the 2003 ALCS though. But shortly after that there's the Mookie/Buckner clip and Dickey does troll some young Yankee fan ballplayers at one point.
  19. Peeps we're expecting to miss opening day: Santana Marcum Niuewenhuis Francisco Murphy ("Well, I wouldn't say we're missing Francisco, Bob!") That's 20% of the roster. Still TBD with regards to Wright. It's been a very intercostal spring. Nieuwenhuis. I actually don't expect him, or Marcum, or Murphy to miss OD.

  21. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Not for nothing but these wage-and-hour lawsuits are pretty common for large employers. I'd be shocked if this turned into anything. either last year or the year before the Yankee Stadium security firm was suing them I believe. Mostly drop in the bucket stuff at worst I imagine. related to lawsuits but probably not finances, the Mets apparently won a lawsuit keeping the Kosher stands from opening on Friday nights and Saturdays.
  22. On the flip side, kept Emaus on the roster to avoid losing him which ended up being a mistake.
  23. seems like it's been about the same the last couple of years too.
  24. Edgy MD wrote: Which waiver claims are we talking about? Ruben Gotay? The Mets are going to need to make some moves with the 40 man regardless. Zach Lutz for one.
