I cannot see how this conclusion possibly justifies a suspension. Well, he did get arrested and charged. I don't love the idea of leagues having their own law enforcement branch at all, but if you make the baseline "if you get arrested and charged, you get suspended" I guess I can live with that. They're entertainers and public figures and it makes some sense. this weird and specific DV policy is a different animal, and one created for PR. That's probably why they charged him, because to not charge a player charged with assault and a bruised wife (It seems hard to argue that there wasn't a direct line to Famliia acting out and her getting hurt) seems soft. of course.. just because she cooperated, exonerated him, defended him, and/or didn't sound 'scared' doesn't mean he's innocent, or that there wasn't psychological abuse mixed in there. Of course, sending him to counseling for it while also saying he didn't do it seems clunky. also maybe he should've been to a more alcohol-oriented counseling?
  2. 97 wins. Win the division by 6 games. Win the World Series in Five.

  5. Like I said, if you need I'll autodraft (I definitely don't have time or a spare brain cell irl right now) and happily play waiver wire and all that. plenty of midseason sleepers. ceetar@gmail.com or just ceetar on yahoo if he wants to invite.

  8. Neil's okay. He'll be mostly okay. He'll probably cede time to Reyes and Flores and assorted prospects, but his line will be fine. .280/.340/.440. Basically his career line.
  9. On and off, managed heavily. But does manage, somehow, 78 games. And they're _good_. This is a Hall of Fame caliber player, even if he'll almost definitely not have the longevity needed now. .303/.410/.520 139 wRC+ 2.9 fWAR He gets 48 of the games before the break, and gets named to the All-Star Game again. Announces Molly's second pregnancy during the ASG break. 15 HR. 15 Doubles. Is active for the postseason. Wins the World Series MVP, helped by getting to DH the final three games. Has the go-ahead HR in the 5th game. He misses the parade for the birth of his son, Cliff.

  12. 17. Sean Gilmartin (or that guy I equate with Gilmartin who i cna't recall now)
  13. Ah Wheeler. poised to have a monster 2015 imo, and now it's 2017. Does he take the next step, or does he need to catch up again first? 140 IP, because in August it'll be all "This guy's got a 2.1 ERA and we're only a game up on the Nats, what do you mean limit his innings?" 9.2 K/9, 2.61 bb/9 2.33 ERA, 3.9 fWAR gets game two of the division series.

I just threw a couple bid s up on guys I figure I could use (or trade) and who at any rate valued more than $2 (which is basically MAX offer on anyone, given my current budget) you can tell if someone's bid? I'm not sure if it explicitly tells you (it might) but you can look and see the high bid on every player in the acquisition pipeline. Look! Joe Panik for $6!! I don't think so.. what's the high bid for Gregory Bird?

Did you tell him you were bidding him up? these auctions are silent no? I was going to bump Dilson Herrera but I got distracted irl.
  18. Thought they blamed the bruises on one of the kids? But perhaps drunk and disorderly and only maybe abusive gets a lesser sentence? It's already a farce because of the WBC. I hate to be on the site of the potential abuser and the team that benefits from it..., but it probably should be less than 30, and they should've decided months ago. Familia in NY probably means they're negotiating a "we'll do it for a little less, if you don't fight it."
  19. seawolf17 wrote: 7. 2008-15: 3-5, 8.86 ERA? WE'LL TAKE HIM! (Went 1-9 at the plate.) Who was on the team that long in relief? Bobby Parnell? That ERA doesn't match though.
  20. 10. Hisanori Takahashi?

I have three bucks and will make him pay for someone I mean, if I see a guy I'd actually use, but I'd rather save my cash for injury replacements.' Yeah, but that guy has a mint and no alternatives, he'll pay $3 for Joe Panik or Shelby Miller believe me exactly, so let him get the guys cheap and then I'll trade him more expensive guys for cap space.
