Will try my best, but um, pas de promesses. What does happen if I can't be on for the draft (besides ending up with a shitty team)? Can I set up exclusions, max bids, stuff like that? I don't really see anything like in the draft center page. You get nobody at all. It's a live auction draft. After the draft you can submit bids for anyone not signed and then he goes on two day waivers and goes to the person with the highest bid. Your best bet is probably to find someone to draft for you.
  2. I want to see it but my wife is still punishing me for Wreck-It Ralph 2 years ago.
  3. as my other league reminds me, Dodgers D-Backs in Australia 3/22 starts the season. It's just two games but let's stick to drafting before that. Gonna say 3/19 at 8:30 EST and let's try to make this work.
  4. When can Seo do? Tough to schedule for everyone but it's best if everyone's there. I probably should send an email since there are..2? people that aren't here. I don't know that doing it that last week is the best time, You'd like to have a couple of days for trades and waiver claims to round out the team, but whatever works.
  5. A Boy Named Seo wrote: I'll be in Europe either date. I might be screwed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostitution_by_country#Europe I'm good with either, but I'll point out that given it's a keeper league, guessing who will come north and who won't and all that is part of the fun.
  6. I see updates for a trade block update... Miracle Monks's trade block has been updated! Miracle Monks on January 21, 2014 11:31 AM But, like, how do you view them? http://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/209/tradingblock When are we thinking about the draft for this year? Sometime mid/early March usually works best. Weekday night still best for everyone? Just as a starting point for discussion, Wednesday March 12th at 8:30pm EST?
  7. whee. cut date is 1/31. Cut those bastards. (offseason trade deadline too)
  8. no Catching Fire? Rigged I say. Looking back, there were like 7-10 movies I really did intend on seeing. Oh well, I guess I'll go download them.
  9. I was so bad at seeing movies in 2013. If I watch I'm just going to root for American Hustle for everything since that's the one I saw.
  10. About Abscam. I enjoyed it. This about sums it up:

Edgy MD wrote: The main result of the ballyhooed 48 fps technology was --- from my seat --- to make the sets look so vivid... that they look like sets, and the CGI looks like CGI. was having this discussion the other day. I suspect it's just the newness of it. Once you get used to it you'll be immersed in the story the same way you always are. Also as filmmakers get better at using it as a companion tool and not a "Hey, let's see what we can do!" bit. Splitting the Hobbit into three parts for me took away all urgency to actually see them. Two parters don't both me quite as much, but usually only if a story has a good middle where you can cut it, and a lot of 'final' book adaptations have a lot of that going on do to the conclusive nature of them, but I'm not sure the Hobbit really has three distinct enough stories worth telling. Seems like I'm not the only one. I suspect I'll watch them on Netflix or something on successive days after the third one's out.

I just texted my mom to ask. Made this a topic all holiday. We eventually looked through movie releases from the mid-80s and settled on it probably being Flight of the Navigator.

What's the worst movie theater experience you ever had as a youngster/toddler/elementary school aged kid? 1. Hmm. I don't recall having any bad movie theater experiences though. We went to ..I think it was American Pie 2, on opening night in Westbury and the film failed and we ended up watching Osmosis Jones instead (not bad) but that's the worst I can think of. *crossing my fingers here*
  14. that's the Treblemakers. And don't forget about The High Notes. (it's a very punny movie) It's charming in it's own ridiculous way. Best scene might be Anna Kendrick and Brittney Snow singing Titanium in the shower.
  15. A Boy Named Seo wrote: Ah, there it is. Thanks. Guess I'll start with these chumps... the Brettanomyces Tart-ans. Suckers. They all suck!
  16. A Boy Named Seo wrote: Not clear as to where to go to use the arb allocations... Am I missing something kind of obvious? PS - I understand if none of you rush to help me with this one here... UI's not overly friendly imo. http://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/209/allocations There's an allocation tap on the lower header. Then you have select each team from the drop down near the top left that should give you their roster with a drop down for each player to select $1 $2 or $3. Gotta give every team at least $1 and maximum of $3.
  17. Yippee.
  18. A Boy Named Seo wrote: OK, I'm registered over there. Don't see the team yet, so let me know when that's freed up and I'll nab em. Thx again, dudes. Team abandoned. pick 'er up. Let me know if it disappears (Because some random goonie claims it) and i'll re-abandon.
  19. After he releases (or I release?) You'd head over to http://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/claimteams and find the Duda Wright Things team in the Crane Pool Forum league and claim it. You're good until 3/13 financially, but would need to spend 9.99 to renew for the next season. (and you probably need a fangraphs account) As far as responsibilities go.. Friday is the arbitration deadline. You don't have to really worry about this if you don't want, but we all spent money to raise the prices of your players, you have the option to spend $25 raising the prices of any of our players, at least $1 per team. After that, you can trade players, release players, etc until March when we all have to get together for a draft to fill in the empty spots on our roster via online auction.
  20. Duda Wright Things will be abandoned.
  21. So we have an opening, who wants in?!

  23. Is one of you MirMets69 or did we lose someone? (and if it's one of you, arb it up!)
  24. supposedly cleared to destroy the Jets this weekend. I've got him in my league too.
  25. metsmarathon wrote: arbitration time is upon us! bring on the adjustments! BURN THEM ALL.
