  1. The night before, I'd personally shoot up all the O's with 'roids and get the Mets drunk on vodka.
  2. Well tell him to hurry up! There's a line out here and we can't cross our legs that much longer.
  3. A pitcher even heavier than David Wells, with a good tailing fastball.
  4. RUN-DMC's Raising Hell - a groundbreaking album as far as rap making it in the mainstream goes - is also from 1986. I associate that album with the Mets. How could you not think of the Mets in the line from the title song "Kings from Queens, from Queens come Kings"? Also, "Walk this Way" has a group from Queens competing with a group from Boston, just like the World Series.
  5. Some of us are slow developers. I didn't take an interest in baseball & the Mets until I was 11.
  6. Just finished reading:A work of fiction, but full of historical detail. A great read for New York City history buffs like myself.
  7. Krusty is coming, Krusty is coming....

  9. ="PatchyFogg"]Think about all of the jobs that would be created....."Oh, piss-boy!!"OE: Wow, do I know how to kill a thread or what?
  10. Pro Quest is gonna have your ass in a sling.
  11. Nice work with the metaphors, but I would think that in the 1960's if there was an association of "Colts" and "sports franchise" it would be to one of the dominant football teams of the era.
  12. Ugh, did you have to remind me of Juan Samuel?
  13. Who's LF? Any relation to FK?

  16. "Double Duty" Radcliffe, what a great nickname!I wonder who takes the title of oldest living baseball player now?
  17. No but he's related to that guy.

  19. I once met a Boston sculptor named Khalil Gibran and yeah he was a white guy of Lebanese ancestory. He was really funny and insightful.
  20. The Red Sox have announced theirs already. Interleague will finally have NL East facing AL East again, the matchups that you know actually make some sense. The Mets will be in the Olde Towne June 27-29. I'll buy the first round for anyone who comes up.
  21. Where's Bret? All this winning is bringing out euphoric optomism. I need some cold, hard reality to balance things out.
  22. I'm very curious how Randa earned the designation professional hitter. Anyone have a story behind that? Also, is it just me or does it seem that Randa has played an inordinate number of games against the Mets this season?
  23. I'm wondering wear Rusty Staub is. He just exhuded big to me. At least 1980's Rusty Staub, maybe he was svelter in his first go-around with the Mets.
  24. Rootin' for the ChiSox and Cleveland tonight. Move the Yankers into 3d place for the wild card. hee hee
