  2. Hello offense. Welcome back. You've been missed.
  3. We've got our cover model for the next issue of Modern Maturity.
  4. Make up call for the ump?
  5. If it's too hot, the tea usually hurts me.
  6. Lucky that guy who sucks is batting.
  7. That makes Shinjo look like the Crocodile Hunter.
  8. That Piazza's sure got warning track power.
  9. Not bad. There was a rainout and the Mets still managed to top Bret's projection for the first 15 games by one.

  11. Steve Christy in Joe Pendal's Capitol Hell is a Mets fan. As is Rick LaBlonde the PI in Identity Crisis by Kevin Chapman Funny coincidence that is!
  12. Maybe, but I factored in that a) a loss in an important game against a major division rival didn't deserve many points to the Mets overall so I only awarded the minimum 6 Glavine's pitching sucess was aided by the winds and the Braves scrub lineup and c) the Jones homer and Wright's errors were responsible for the the loss so Glavine loses a point as co-goat du jour.

People have been sucking up to Glavine too. Even in losses that he's responsible for by serving up meatballs to Andruw Jones.
  14. cooby wrote: Poor Willets, what a boring game to choose to go to It wasn't boring. I love pitching duels. The main disappointment other than the loss was that the game went by so fast compared to the 9 hours of driving we did to get there and back.
  15. Castro 2 Glavine 1 Reyes 1 Woodward 2
  16. That was like the shortest game ever and you guys still managed to run the IGT up to 12 pages. Nice pitchers duel with a bad ending. The wind was blowing in something fierce so Andruw (sic) Jones really crushed that ball. Bah!

I was not part of this consensus. In fact I created the long tradition of Triple Crappiness and think it's a vital means of venting anger and frustration on the worst days of the season.
  18. Bummer. This could be a turning point. The Manchurian Brave pitches tomorrow, then it's a west coast swing, and a trip to the House of Horrors. The '06 Mets could be brought down to earth in a hurry. Well, it was fun while it lasted.

  20. I'm Down
  21. The Dangling Chads for Chad Bradford (attach long dangling prosthetic arms in tribute to Bradford's delivery) Oliver's Army for Darren Oliver (military uniforms) The Trashmen for Steve Traschel (dress like sanitation workers) The Dukes of Earl for LoDuca (regal attire) My Funny Valentins for Valentin (red, pink and lots of hearts) The Wright Stuff for David Wright (5 brave men dressed as NKOTB, or alternatively as astronauts)
  22. I think a slice of mango would be more appropriate in tribute to this quote: ]I actually realized that I was somebody important, because I caught the attention of 60,000 people, plus the whole world watching a guy that if you reverse time back 15 years ago, I was sitting under a mango tree without 50 cents to pay for a bus.
