  2. Koch was not gay, he was always hanging out with a former Miss America.
  3. Somehow posting that Melissa Lima pic is going to get me in trouble.
  4. Imagine how insufferable they'll be win the Yankees win the WS.

  6. Simple contest. Predict what teams will play in the postseason and how far they will go. This is a who you think you'll win not who you want to win contest, so pick carefully. I'll close this thread and put it in the Predictions forum on August 29th (2 months before the scheduled 7th game of the World Series). I'll tally up the points and announce the winner after the conclusion of the World Series. NL East: NL Central: NL West: NL Wild Card: AL East: AL Central: AL West AL Wild Card: (10 points for each correct pick) NL Divisional Series: (pick two teams) AL Divisional Series: (pick two teams) (25 points for each correct pick) NL Pennant Winner: AL Pennant Winner: (50 points for each correct pick) World Series Champion: (100 points for correct pick)
  7. This sux. This season had so much promise but it seems to be heading back into a rerun of the late 90's, early oughts.
  8. There's no DL large enough to hold all the injured players on my roster.
  9. Waulkil Gaunce?
  10. Edgy DC wrote: ="Elster88"]="cleonjones11"]We could have Mota AND Nady ..Thanks Omar.... For the first time, I'm 100% in agreement with cleon. I understand. We could have Mota and Nady. (Excuse me, AND Nady.) I'm still asking, what's the point? The point is that trading Nady was part of an ill-conceived desperation manuveur at the trade deadline when trades for other mediocre relievers would be possible afterwards without sacrificing so much.
  11. I think there's too much overconfidence in the Mets here. Braves can still win the division, especially with the Mets falling to pieces.
  12. Johnny Dickshot wrote: It's gonna suck to watch the MFYs win the WS after the Mets fail to win anything behind a rotation of John Maine, Mike Pelfrey, Phil Humber, Oliver Perez and Bobby Parnell. Corrected that for you.
  13. CPF'ers have already selected quality songs for Shea singalongs, including "I Touch Myself" by the Divinyls and "Breakout" by Swing Out Sister.

  15. ="cooby"]Last night, I went down in the basement and found "A Perfect Storm" (which so far seems to be about bars in Gloucester, boring), "That's because you've never been to a bar in Gloucester.
  16. ]Randy Johnson Asks Chien-Ming Wang For Some Pitching Advice For A Pitcher Friend Of His August 17, 2006 | Onion Sports NEW YORKYankees pitcher Randy Johnson asked his teammate and fellow pitcher Chien-Ming Wang Tuesday for some pitching advice that was reportedly not for him, but for a "tall, lanky, inconsistent" southpaw friend of his. "Hemy friendis having trouble because he thinks his release point is erratic," said Johnson, who as the conversation went on had to vehemently deny allegations that the person he was talking about was himself. "So, Chien, what do you think about my, er, his release point?" Wang eventually recommended that Johnson tell his "friend" that when he releases the ball too high, he loses his ability to fool left-handed hitters, and to also mention that he will have to accept that at his friend's age, his slider won't be nearly as effective as it once was.
  17. ]I give up. Is that because the Yankees are spanking the Red Sox now in their inevitable march to a World Championship?
  18. ="KC"]When I reincarnate, I'm coming back as Michael Kay. What crime have you commited in this life to deserve that?

  20. I haven't seen it yet, but my prediction is that they finally rid the plane of snakes by having everyone strap themselves in while opening one of the bulkheads so that the snakes all get sucked out. I can't wait to see if I'm correct.
  21. metirish wrote: Cool idea,I wonder if A-Rod looks forward to this series or dreads it,articles in local papers today say this is the series he can become a hero....yawn. Maybe he can homer in each game and otherwise be on fire while the rest of the team hits a collective .087 and the Yankees pitchers get lit up and the Red Sox win. That would be delicious. Would Yankees fans say he's the only Yankee trying or that he's padding his stats while true Yankees struggle?
  22. Johnny Dickshot wrote: He's been injured and lost some effectiveness over the past few years, I guess. He's been paid for his 1999 season over and over again but hasn't replicated it yet and isn't likely to do so. I remember 1999. That's when Met Maven wanted to get rid of Mike Piazza and trade for Lieberthal in his place.
