  1. Good to know that Keith is as ignorant of magic numbers as I am.
  2. NL East: New York NL Central: Cincinatti NL West: San Diego NL Wild Card: Philadelphia AL East: New York AL Central: Detroit AL West: Oakland AL Wild Card: Chicago NL Divisional Series: New York, Philadelphia AL Divisional Series: Detroit, Chicago NL Pennant Winner: New York AL Pennant Winner: Detroit World Series Champion: Detroit
  3. 10-6 was the score of the Mets-Cards NLCS game I attended in 2000. This is a good omen. Or just a stupid coincidence.
  4. Nice DP overshadowed by interview with Beatles tribute band.
  5. The Beatles set-list for that show was pretty short: Twist And Shout She's A Woman I Feel Fine Dizzy Miss Lizzy Ticket To Ride Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby Can't Buy Me Love Baby's In Black I Wanna BeYour Man A Hard Day's Night Help! I'm Down
  6. Former Mets who've become Cardinals recently are going long.
  7. The quote is just from memory. I'm pretty sure it was $50.
  8. In 2000 the NLCS Mez Reserved tix cost $50 each, so that's a 50% increase in 6 years. Somehow I don't think that's in line with inflation.
  9. Wow them Mets have a lot of runs. Should of tuned in earlier.
  10. Considering Shea history, a Beatles sing-a-long would be a great tradition.
  11. Bump.

I'll stick with my picks anyway. I'm guessing people are picking with their hearts. Maybe if there were money riding on this things would be different.
  13. I'm worried by September and the Mets history of flopping in that month, however irrational this worry may be.
  14. Biff Thunderpants - Aug. 23, 2006 YAHOOLAND -- Fans of the cellar-dwelling CranePool Forum League team the Willet's Points are becoming increasingly vocal in their demands to fire manager Willets Point. "It's like he doesn't even bother to make a lineup for some games," vented longtime fan Shirley Brown of Minnetonka. Except for a brief period in early August when the team climbed into to 16th place, the Willet's Points have held an iron grip on last place often far behind their CranePool Forum League competitors. While the squad is plagued with injuries, fans are not placated by management's explanations that things would be better if the team were healthy. "They can't hit for shit, they can't pitch, and Point sure as hell can't make a decent trade. He traded A-Rod for Youklis for Christ's sake," commented Bo Gruesome of Scarsdale. With the season coming to an end, Point can't be too confident in his job security and almost certainly will not have his contract renewed for next season. When asked for a comment on the fan's anger, Point replied, "Oh shit, that's right. I have a fantasy team. I better go over and move some players around."

No, it's just that there's a PtBNL heading out of town, and your adoptees have proved to be particularly vulnerable at trading hour. I actually have no prospects in my fold right now. I keep meaning to look into adopting a new one.

  17. Barry Zito. (sorry, couldn't resist)
  18. Excellent job. Actually I'm not able to watch it yet, but I figure a video KTE raises the bar. Now Lundy has time to take his turn in the BLC.
  19. So is a 58 VORP good?
  20. Coldness in the finger sounds like a superhero power. Perhaps Glavine will master the iceball which slips and slides out of the strike zone baffling the batters.
  21. More in the sense of a team going down in flames.
  22. I would think they'd be more likely to end up superimposed over someone's head, unless they leave a black strip at the top of the screen for the subtitles. May just be more natural to read below the picture too, I guess, kind of like captions on a photograph.
