  1. Cool!

  3. I've always wondered -- and perhaps this is happened -- what if a team's magic number was 2, the team won their game at home, but their division rival was still playing elsewhere and they had to wait 20/30/40 minutes until that game finished in a loss. Would the fans be able to watch that other game on diamondvision? Would the players wait in the dugout and storm the field to celebrate after it's all official? Or would it be rather anti-climactic?
  4. I was joking you know?

  6. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo....Not Gonna Happen.
  7. ... and next we're facing a rook who pitched a no-no in his last start. Time to pull out a can of whoopass.
  8. Kind of a retro-Mets moment losing to a rookie in his major league debut.
  9. Funny that I emerged from my grouchiness recently and now Edgy falls in the can.
  10. We need an Al Weis-type on the postseason roster too.
  11. I have no problem with McGwire and Bonds in the Hall where they'll almost certainly end up (unless hard evidence of their guilt is found). As I said in my previous post, punishing a few noteworthy individuals is the witch hunt approach which inevitably leads to the greater problems being swept under a rug. A transparent openeness on the part of MLB, the players association and the sports media that yes, performance-enhancing drugs were commonly used in this sport but now we're making the effort to educate, test, and prevent their use to level the playing field will be much more effective.
  12. The Mets next win will eliminate me from this contest. I'll take it gladly.
  13. The witches could be on target!
  14. Right now, .255 with 10 doubles. He's got a ways to go in the closing weeks.
  15. Was this the start of something big after all!

  17. I always thought Al Leiter looked a lot like a guy I used to work with, Ron Carnegie, who is famous enough to have his own IMDB page. He doesn't look that much like Al in this picture though.
  18. Thankfully Detroit gets some easy teams this week (knock on wood).
  19. I can't believe the Mets may have the division clinched as early as Tuesday. Holy Freakin' Shit!
  20. Wow, this both sucks and blows.
  21. A lot of peeing with you lately.
  22. We determined a couple of years ago that it would go by batting order appearance.
  23. The Braves win too, so their tragic number remains 2.
  24. Marlins win! Good ballgame.
